Enzo Maresca "high among candidates" to replace Guardiola if he leaves next summer

A lot of Vinny shouts, be interesting if the consensus were the same if this was during his Burnley prem season.

Point being if the club thinks someone fits the mould and has what it takes it doesn't matter where we pull them from. Bayern did exactly that with Vinny and our lads at the top haven't steered us wrong ever with managerial changes.
We'd all prefer an extension but if and when it happens be exciting to see where we go.

Pep has to be replaced. After this season, the following season or the season after. It's just inevitable.

Anyone else is a step down in many ways but not all. Pep isn't the infallible strategist and tactician I once thought he was. He has got plenty wrong over long periods of time to balance with the more things he has got right over a long period of time.

I welcome the new chapter whenever it happens. A new manager is always exciting. I would respectfully thank Pep as we have great managers and players in the past but I don't think we should be lighting candles and such.

I don't know who are the decent managers out there so I've no idea how likely any are to succeed at City but I'd back them and scrutinize them as I have all managers we've had... I loved many and Pep will definitely be amongst the ones I loved the most.
I hope the next manager has the same balance....

He isn't leaving any time soon..

Iraola is at bloody Bournemouth, their ground holds 11.5k! He's doing amazingly.

Possibly he could do with a stepping stone before us, but Bayern took Kompany after he'd been relegated with Burnley, because they knew the way he played would work with better players. Iraola could be similar.
He is indeed doing amazingly. The style of football he gets Bournemouth playing tells me he can get a bigger club with a bigger budget playing even better. I think he is a great manager who is primed for the very top of the game.

Sam Lee and David Mooney found it necessary to have an “emergency” Let me Talk podcast based on this article, the discussion was seemed to accept that Ornstein’s information is fact, Pep is leaving, in fairness they point out that no decision has been made and he might stay and even extend
However being a City podcast I would have expected them to also discuss that the information isn’t correct and could be mischievous with intent to destabilise City
This is what we are faced with now for the rest of the season even if Pep denies it tomorrow “because he wouldn’t he”
City are the biggest story in town
