27 | Matheus Nunes - 2025/26

you listen to opposition fans and "pundits" and they still don't know. they have no clue how good he is. they still think he's a weak link in the team, a makeshift placeholder and that we'll be looking to replace him come january. I'd understand being this late to the party around october, but fucking hell lads it's almost christmas, when are you planning to catch up?
Mate, that was a large portion of this forum until about 3 weeks ago.

amazing what confidence can mean to a player, been great development in 2025. Written off by +90% fans 12 months ago to now one of the first names on the team sheet.

In our top 3 performers this season and now established himself as one of the league’s best full-backs. Not sure I can recall a city player who’s dramatically improved so much. He’s been magnificent for a good year now and deserves all the plaudits that come his way.

Needs a song so he knows how many people he's won over.

Delighted for the lad and he seems to have the right attitude too.
Good luck with that. Haaland is in his 4th season doesn’t really have one. Apart from after a goal when that div on the tannoy shouts his name

I was saying at the end of last year he was a good right back, he is more than that he is a very good right back. Happy tha he now seems comfortable in dm as well as whilst we have no Rodders it allows us to give Nico a little rest at the end of games.

I never post on these individual threads but this guy deserves an individual mention from me. Clearly the most improved player over the last 12 months. Can’t believe he is the same guy. Out KdB in defence he is that good.

Shades of when Rodri first came to the club; remember the "Plodri" bullshit? A lot of posters need to look back at those comments, and hang their heads in shame. Same with Nunes; some of the stuff that was being posted, what, 18 months ago was ludicrous. It's like a section of our fanbase learned fuck all from the Rodri episode. Coming to play for Pep must be a shock to the system, compared to any other manager (that's why I'm reluctant to join in the grief that a section on here are giving Reijnders; let's see how he fares next season). Back on topic (!), Nunes has a justifiable shout to be our most improved* player in that aforementioned 18 months.

*note; improved, not necessarily the best.

Nunes has been one of the best right backs in the league this season for me but when he moved into the middle he was a bit sloppy trying make the pass forward to quickly! Yep he could fill in there if we desperate..
