Mission Impossible CCXLVI - Final Reckoning.
It's way too long, and at least two of the set pieces last too long (the sub sequence goes on for 2 hours), the outbreaks of earnest pleading are unconvincing and don't seem to have much emotion (maybe Cruise just can't convey it now?), the first hour is largely tedious, people materialise as if from nowhere time after time for a bit of dramatic tedium before an inevitable escape, several characters exist to stand around and occasionally be crackshots while the bad guys are clearly practicing to be stormtroopers as they can't hit a barn from inside the barn... there's only so many times certain death can be cheated at the last moment without it losing impact, and the bucket of impact is empty long before the end - there's one decent character exit in the whole running time.
Self-indulgent and one of the worst of the lot.
