May I play Devil's Advocate here?

When Pep drops or even continually overlooks a player, nobody on here suggests that he 'hates' them, so why are posters on here who slag off a player's performance accused of doing so?

I know that some go way over the top - such as suggesting people boo a player. (not to mention that dickhead outside the Bernebeu last season bellowing into the mic calling for Bernie and Pep to be shot, or something similar). This is wrong on so many counts - it could lead to trouble among Blues in the stands for one thing. Nevertheless, the accusations of hating seem too frequent to just be directed at those who overstep the mark.

I really hated having Nunes in the side all last season, but I never hated him as a person at all - he seems like a lovely bloke.

Surely it's possible to want a player nowhere near the team based not upon personal feelings, but purely upon what you consider lousy performance or attitude?

Proud to support this club. Outstanding commitment from the players. The football continues to be sheer joy to watch. I think the only weak link is Doku. Would take Bobb, Savvy or Jack all day long before Doku.

No you just hated Nunes as a player, nothing personal, I get it.

West Ham deserves credit for how they set up, and if you watched them play versus Villa last week, they're not nearly as bad as their current point tally indicates. Paqueta was terrific for them.

It is a bit concerning, though, that we're still letting teams into it in the second halves, even at home. The fact that Pep is falling to his knees at every half-chance while we're up 2-0 is telling. Shout to Gigi—some impressive saves.

I thought they actually did a terrible job i assume you want ro give them credit for coming out and playing.

I thought it was terrible of them to play a back 4 rather than 5. Also leaving their inexperienced left back 1 v 1 versus Cherki was insane. It was good dor us. But terrible way to play a superior team.
 
I was at the game yesterday and just watched it back today. My overall impression was that we were inconsistent and played quite poorly in the first half of the second half. A real positive was that Pep's substitutions on 60 minutes improved us and I have been impressed with Nunes in central midfield in the last couple of games. We are still a team in transition and are doing so well to be in the position that we are in. We shouldn't confuse that with being world beaters (yet). Progression from defence to the final third is still clunky and slow at times and that isn't really a criticism of any player only that the team need to develop and learn from pep. Cherki is such a wonderful player to watch but he gives the ball away too easily. I only hope that he listens to the man and simplifies some of his game without losing the magic. He needs to work on his stamina too.
 
The media will never give Pep any praise. Even after 100 points, 3 in a row or the quadruple but Blues can see how he has improved Nunes beyond anyone's expectations.
I would also include O'Reilly in my Pep praise, he spent his formative years as a midfielder but what a full back he is. Only Pep would have that vision and confidence to put such a young lad there.

There was one bit near the end when we had dozens of passes. I hope someone kept tally. It only ended when we tried to score. I'd have started the Olés but you get bored after 40.

Over the years with Pep, energy conservation before Christmas has been a theme. Get in front and keep the ball and close the game out. We're only at 50 or 60% capacity of how good we can be at the minute.

There's still tweaks. Cherki loses the ball far more than Jack but his output and ceiling is far superior. I hope Sav comes good but Or stein saying today Spuds may bite again in January. Should bite their hand off. Defence looks more assured with a proper keeper behind them but Dias still seems a bit nonchalant to me. And we still allow fast transitions despite Nico stepping up.

All in all, still work in progress but if we're still on Arsenals tail coming down the home straight there's one thoroughbred on the bridle, and a handicapper using the whip 2 furlongs out

Correct he was not performing to the City standards. Delighted he is now. Savinhio is well below what this club expects. Nobody has yet told me what he has brought to the team?

Do you back Phillips? Another duffer. The fact you state jumping on the bandwagon makes my point perfectly. There are so many that are of the same mindset on the bandwagon. Ive watched City since 1968. Ive seen them good Ive seen them really shit. Im not a glory seeker unlike many that think I dont have the right to very occasionally criticise a player thats not up to it.

Well give the lad a fucking chance..you were proven wrong on Doku

You said Doku was the weak link and you would have Savvy, Bobb or Jack above him ..

Maybe back the players instead of digging them out .. I think that no matter how Sav plays you will not be happy with him.

Why do you need somebody to tell you what he brings to the team??

Silly comment. I saw it like you. Is that it now for the season. Not bad for 45 million. Dear me. I hope he pushes on but not seen any signs of that. Runs into brick walls. Passes side side back back. A goal is a rarity. Misses easy chances. I hope I am proved wrong.

I feel sorry for Phillips to be honest..maybe he made a big mistake in coming to City...and yes if he was playing for us if course I would back him.
Wow you have been watching since 68.. means nothing if you don't back the players..
My first game was in 61 and I sometimes think fuck me about players performances but still try to give them total support.
