Antoine Semenyo | Prefers to join City - Ornstein (p73)

I’ve seen a good few Villa fans (about 6/7) be obsessed with the idea of Marmoush going there in the midst of this Semenyo saga.

I don’t even think they’ve been linked so no idea where it’s coming from. Other than 2 and 2 together to make 5.

Hope Marmoush’s position in the squad isn’t affected. Think he can still be a fantastic player for us.

Semenyo is lethal left, right and central so I don’t think they’re linked.

Merson having a meltdown about us being the front runners because Pep might only be there until the end of the season. Absolutely shit argument, so might Amorim so might Slot, where's the difference you fucking moron?
It's funny how he repeats himself all the time. Sign of a thick ****.

No chance we let him go there even on loan

I think it’s pretty likely Marmoush moves on in the summer now. Think he’ll see out the season but a guy with his quality in his prime years can’t and doesn’t deserve to just be playing second fiddle to Haaland, and I don’t see him as a winger. Strange signing. Thought we might see a change of system where he plays off Haaland as a 2nd striker when he signed and was excited to see it, but with Foden back playing well and Cherki in there I don’t see it now.

Semenyo if he does come in is a better option off both sides than Marmoush and that’s without factoring in Doku, Savinho, Bobb if he stays, Foden Cherki wide etc.

I know it’s the complete wrong thread to put the opinion forward but City really should look to sign a more experienced/older goalscorer who’s happy to be benched more often than not to back up Erling rather than an Alverez esque player

Semenyo is a good player and having a fantastic season, no doubt. But don't like this transfer for us.

I assume he would join as a rotation player for this season with a view to pushing into the first team next year. But what signal does this send to Doku who's in the form of his life and only just now has made the position his own?

This signing would have made more sense had we sold Savinho for £65m in August to Tottenham like we should have. Right now, it risks squad harmony to add further depth in a position where there's a lot of it elsewhere

Demoralising for Doku, pushes out Marmoush, adds complications for Foden & Cherki, further reduces Savinho's gametime and Bobb's opportunities without improving our best XI

Jesus that's some list of negatives for one player!! Haha!

Marmoush feels like an early Viana misfire. We were linked to back up strikers the summer before, and it felt almost like Txiki asked him to go and find someone to replace Alvarez with.

I think Marmoush is pretty good, but he needs the ball played into space all the time which makes him an odd tactical fit for us. I’m sure we will need him after Xmas but it’s hard to dislodge Haaland in this form. Interested to see what game time he gets after AFCON but I can see him moving on come summer too.

When Marmoush originally arrived he looked like a breath of fresh air, really lively debut against Chelsea.

It just hasn't happened for him overall with us as of yet, He's a good player but still unsure if he'll be a success here.

He's not long back from injury but he's struggling for game time and I can't see how he's going to get minutes, I can see his future elsewhere imo.

Just seen Bournemouth next home game is agaisnt Arsenal on 3rd of Jan. wouldn’t be surprised if we let him play that game as it would give him a chance to say bye to fans etc and also we would hope he may help Bournemouth get a result. Seems a win win
You got to be kidding, the Arsenal players would be out to do a Rodri on him.We should insist he’s wrapped in cotton wool.

Interesting transfer...he has attributes that a lot of our players don't have...power and pace and certainly a better finish than Sav.

But can he play the intricate short game in tight spaces...does he have the football IQ. What's his crossing like as well????

I'd larger have gone for Olise in the summer but
.............
Doku and Haaland have power in abundance.
