Antoine Semenyo | Prefers to join City - Ornstein (p73)

Fair enough. Interesting that United, Chelsea, Liverpool and Spurs wanted him.

Yea reasonable point. But not many players available in January and liverpool are a bit desperate with them struggling and Isak out. Not sure united or Chelsea's transfer strategy is something a team like ours (who are levels above them) should be emulating. Spurs are spurs and consistently sign second rate players like richarlison and Brennan Johnsons. I think a big part of the attraction is the tight struggle for top 4 and his availability mid season.

I feel like the whole thing is a bit of a blag tbh. And we arent as desperate as the others. Yes doku is out but only temporarily, but cherki is kicking right into gear. 65 million quid isnt peanuts. My gut feeling says this will be a signing that makes little impact and pep will hardly play him.

Time will tell mate. Obviously I hope I'm wrong (if we signed him) and proven right (if we dont)

I’ve seen people mention Marmoush to Liverpool there is a deal to be done there
Give us Szoboszlai !

Absolutely fuck no, keep Marmoush. As for Semenyo, I mentioned my feelings earlier in the thread. However if the meltdown on Twitter from other fans is that good, I’m all for it.

Not a like for like player, but Semenyo shooting with both feet doesn’t half remind me of Kev smashing them from outside the box. Y’know the ones that stay fucking hit…Chelsea away in 2017, Newcastle 2019, Madrid in 2023…a couple from the 4 he scored against wolves. Semenyo has got lead in his boots, just like the great man.

Key Assist Providers (Examples):
  • Kevin De Bruyne: Frequently linked up with Sterling, delivering pinpoint passes for goals.
  • Leroy Sané: An effective wing partnership where both players created for each other.
  • İlkay Gündoğan: Provided assists for Sterling, often with midfield runs and passes.
  • Riyad Mahrez: Delivered crosses for Sterling to finish, especially in tight games.
  • Kyle Walker: Also contributed assists, as seen in some of Sterling's goals.

Seriously your obsession with hating on David Silva is getting a bit fucking weird now.

Every time someone posts about him you're on it like a tramp on chips trying to convince anyone who will listen how shit you think he was

Give a rest FFS

Bah humbug. :-)

Hidden bank accounts from
Middle East would still push money to bank accounts in England and open to tax authorities

Do they mean Tax authorities are hand in glove with city and making sure such hidden incomes are not made public?

I like the sound of him tbh. A different type of winger. Not really a tricky skillful type, more of an impact player and goalscorer. I think Pep knows Bobb and Savinho have hit their ceiling, and I think he knows we're gonna need rotation options later in the season if Cherki and Doku have to keep playing. Not expecting him to settle in immediately but he'll do alright at first imo, and then improve.

It's how they cope. They can't handle that city are a bigger draw than united now.

To be fair to average football fans who just get all their stuff from social media and genuinely believe that journalists are all fair and open minded - this is what they are fed and what they will believe.

Regardless of the outcome of the hearing these type of fans will never, ever, ever buy it. We're guilty.

It'll be trotted out every single time we win something and every time a player they wanted signs for us.

There are some real unhinged football fans on Twatter - mind you, a lot of them do it for clicks, so let them crack on. I'm fine with it all.
