FA Cup | Round 3 | Exeter H | Sat 10 Jan 15:00

So what. Its the FA Cup. Exeter is hardly a high risk match. If City fans were slow off the mark tough shit. Over the years i have been to numerous City games in the FA Cup and ended up in home sections. There has been very little trouble. I can assure you I will not be the slightest bit bothered abut a few Exeter fans having a good day out.

great post, thanks for that.

Not fussed if Exeter started trouble or not.

I'm allouding to the point if Exeter fans have been able to get tickets in the home end literally within hours then imagine how many Turkish fans we will have.

You’d imagine there may be stricter sales criteria for Galatasaray, e.g. Citizens membership or any membership from before the draw took place ? I’d don’t understand why grounds can’t make space for “local away fans” with a bigger allocation in South Stand L3 e.g. another block or half block especially when we can’t sell all ours for a CL match and they want more. Solves two problems in one, clearly not possible??

Looks like they’ve been taken off general sale. Criteria changed to:

On sale to Season Ticket Members and Cityzens Matchday and Junior Members (as of 7 December). 4 tickets per supporter.

There was a game v Scouse when SS3 was a launching pad for pints filled with coins used to badly injure a 15 yr old girl sat below.
Not suggesting Exeter creates such an issue, but it wasn't good

you'd think that wouldn't you.

Blackburn Rovers have let go most of their staff in the ticket office, leaving 2/3 to man it.

I bet its better for them than our shit hole of an organisation

It is easy to forget that Manchester City are giants in world football. Our team, ground and fan numbers are something Exeter City can never aspire to.

They are struggling for survival and have been handed a financial lifeline plus given more of their fans an affordable (ticket and coach £60?) lifetime memory than would see if playing at home. No wonder they are embracing this fixture even if Pep does not select a first choice team.

Good on them for selling out. Good on City for sensible pricing to encourage new supporters and a full house. Crowds and atmosphere are everything.

Quite. These sort of fixtures live long in the memory.

We've had some good cup draws in my time supporting City - watching Everton at home with Francis Jeffers, and Abel Xavier up against a bunch of 4th division cloggers I will always remember as a 12 year old (we took them to a replay), in fact it was probably the game that got me properly hooked

We have since played and drawn with Liverpool (2-2), Man Utd (0-0) and Forest (2-2) last year. Surprisingly good record against Prem teams, who knows!

Often, these games are more about the next generation than anything else - bit of stardust to get you interested before you develop Stockholm Syndrome around rattly old leaky grounds that run out of food before the match has started

And that reflects on your fanbase too with the cheaper tickets and opportunity to get more youngsters in
