Butterfly effect - One event that leads to another and so on

French striker Neal Maupay's challenge on Arsenal goalkeeper Bernd Leno in 2020 indirectly led to Lionel Messi winning the World Cup with Argentina. Leno's injury gave Emi Martinez his chance at Arsenal, leading to his stellar performances for Argentina, culminating in Copa América and World Cup glory, all because of that single collision, a prime example of chaotic, unpredictable consequences in sports.

Any more you can think of?

Civil war in Yugoslavia in 1992, sees UEFA preventing Yugoslavia from competing in the Euros.
Denmark, who failed to qualify as they came 2nd in the group behind Yugoslavia, are invited to take their place - and go on to win the tournament.

Joseph Bonnel injured Jimmy Greaves in a group stage match against France , ending his participation in World Cup 1966 . A real blow to loose one of the most prolific and potent goal scorers of all time . Replaced by a certain Geoff Hurst....what happened next? ....as an eight year old child it was this terrible blow followed by unexpected bliss that bound me to football forever .

City started the season well and took an early lead against Arsenal when Ilkay Gundogan whips the ball over the Arsenal wall and hits the post as City are pressing for a 2nd. Within 60 seconds of that the ball goes out for a corner in which the rapist injures Godri. City then Limp through the next few weeks with a few more wins but then go on to have a biblical collapse with loss after loss which eventually sees us decide its time to move on some of our most decorated players and start to rebuild the team. I do imagine what would the team look like today and last season as a whole if that free kick goes in..

Last season’s collapse wasn’t due to Rodri's injury.

Practically the whole squad was physically and mentally exhausted, after Four In A Row, and The Treble.

The collapse would have happened at some point, even with a fully fit Dave.

Just to specify, VAR and refs making everything possible for Argentina to win the world cup 2022... And ,, Emi Martinez " ? Really? Better call him TWATTY MARTINEZ for his antics.. he won the trophy for best goalkeeper of the tournament and then holding it like he hold his dick... And then it go even worst when MESSI RAISED THE WORLD CUP TROPHY ABOVE HIS HEAD, HE WAS WEARING BLACK NIGHTGOW WHICH WOMENS WEARING BEFORE SHAGGING... ABSOLUTE CIRCUSS !

He’s a complete nob. But his face in the pic is hilarious.

You lucky bugger. I didn't get a terrible blow followed by unexpected bliss until I was in my twenties :(
