Hafez was fishing for a quote from Pep about what a disappointing year 2025 was. Pep was wise to it. The simplest response it to literally say nothing. It makes for a boring press conference but these journalists have shown by their actions that they are not to be trusted.
Exactly. Pep handled him perfectly. He really has got them in his pocket now.
When he first came he was so pleasant to them & then realised they just stabbed him in the back so now they can just do one

Does anyone know what the away pub is tomorrow? Do they still let away fans in the Colliery Tavern next to the ground?
I’m not going tomorrow, but I’ve always liked to go into Newcastle for the pubs there and get the Metro to the Stadium or Light Metro stop near the stadium.

Has anyone produced a “2025” League Table?

I would guess that City would be first.

Also an FA Cup Final (2024-5) and a League Cup Semi-final. The only thing real blot was the CL defeat by Real Madrid.

We would be top on PPG, which is how these sorts of scenarios were decided in Covid:

He's a total fucking idiot, can't even talk properly.

We have caught Sunderland at a good time.

Missing the most players out of any team in the PL to AFCON, a key player in Ballard out, and starting to look tired.

Only won 1 of their last 5.
....and were far the worst team against Leeds, who should have walked that game.........1- 0 to Sunderland written all over it! ;)

From SAFC.com which I think is a summary of their manager's press conference.

Dan Ballard has been ruled out for Sunderland’s New Year’s Day fixture with Manchester City.

The defender missed Sunday’s 1-1 draw with Leeds United through injury and won’t be involved again as he continues his recovery.

Head Coach Régis Le Bris offered reassurance that he is progressing well. He said: "He is getting better but he won’t be available for tomorrow.

"We hope he is available for the next fixture but it is not serious."

Sunderland will be boosted by the return of Luke O’Nien, who is available for selection after serving a three-match suspension.

Habib Diarra, Chemsdine Talbi, Noah Sadiki and Arthur Masuaku have all prolonged their stays with their respective countries at the 2025 African Cup of Nations by reaching the knockout phase of the competition. Bertrand Traoré and Reinildo will be hoping to join them this evening when they play their final group games.

Le Bris added: "They are all good players in good national squads. We wish them the best. It will create positive vibes later when they come back."

Aji Alese remains absent from selection as he continues to recover from long-term injury.

"Sunderland will be boosted by the return of Luke O’Nien.."

Who writes this stuff? The guy came on against us, got sent off straight away and that's why he's been banned. Why would it be a boost for them when he's shite?

Not sure we can register Semenyo in time, even if we sign him early, I might be wrong though...
I expect that as this is match day 19 and some fixtures have been completed then players signed in January window won’t be eligible until match day 20 and will need to be registered by 12 noon on Friday 2nd

Truth is one thing, propaganda is another.

They are without a few players but if we get complacent they will beat us. We beat them comfortably at home but they seem to be much stronger at home. They took points from Arsenal and Villa and are unbeaten at home this season.

No Metros tomorrow, unfortunately. So, no point drinking in Newcastle, unless get a taxi ?
There's some cracking pubs in Sunderland City Centre.
The Canny Lad, Ship Isis, The Dun Cow & The Peacock, Chaplin's , Cooper Rose (Wetherspoons), are all only 10/15 minutes away from the ground - using the new footbridge over the River Wear.
I now live up in the North East and Sunderland is a very underrated place for a night out...
