Will we win the league this season?

Still no idea the only thing we know we done it before but we have a few players who haven’t. Arsenal been at it for 4/5 years have a much bigger better squad and has proved this season with who has come in for them with injuries. Think by beginning of February we will have a better idea even though they’ll still be plenty games to go.. for me think Arsenal are still just favourites about 60/40% in there favour…

keep the squad fit, keep within 6-9 points of them by april or ocer take them by 3 and we are in a very good position to take the title.

cups competitons may take a strain on both of us

As others have said, the title race hasn’t even started yet. Should Arsenal finish on top then fair play to them, they’ve been there or thereabouts for a few seasons now so if they do it then so be it. Not my favourite team but infinitely preferable to the dippers or rags. One thing I’ll request though should that happen is for it to be over prior to the last day - really don’t want to go through that!
I’m just happy that we’re going into the new year in the thick of things. 12 months ago we were in a mess and all the stress was over CL qualification which was looking touch and go.
The serious twists and turns of this season are still in front of us. CL progress in the spring is a big intangible - once the knockout rounds arrive and teams start to have eyes on that, it can play a big part in how the league ultimately pans out.

Even 5-6 will be enough. I don’t think people realise the level of pressure & expectation that is going to hit Arsenal during the run in. They need that healthy buffer. It’s a huge ask for a manager & bunch of players who have won nothing in 5 years to hold their nerve especially if a team with plenty of proven players lead by a manager who has won it all is right on their tail.
Actually, we of all fanbases, understand exactly the level of pressure and expectation that Arsenal are facing, as we suffered far worse in 2011-12.

Week after week, we had rags, ex rags, journalists and celebrity smart arse no-nowts lecturing that City would eventually crumble under the weight of expectation, whereas United had been there and seen it all.

Ultimately, they were proved right when we fucked-up at home to Sunderland, and then inevitably buckled at Swansea and Arsenal (Arteta of all people)

However they were so obsessed with belittling "little old City" that they forgot to concentrate on their own Jobs

There's a lesson there for a lot of posters

I take your point however our fanbase (despite what you might see in the match day thread) is nowhere near as emotionally unstable as Arsenals. Throw in the fact they have the same manager who has won NOTHING at supposedly one of the biggest clubs on the planet in FIVE years I think the pressure on them to get this title will be much higher. Obviously that pressure becomes less if you manage to build up a big lead.

I think people are overestimating Arsenal's win against Villa because of the run Villa were in. I Villa's games against United and Chelsea and they were poor for the most part. Also, the 4-1 score kinda flattered Arsenal. However, my fear at the moment is that teams like Brighton and Bournemouth that have taken points from Arsenal in recent seasons are very poor at the moment. This goes without saying, but our game against Arsenal at the Etihad of will be crucial

we'll have it won by match day 35. Arsenal are too insecure and desperate and it will ruin them in the end, and will say this now after what will be their best win of the season.

Not sure that will happen, but it would be something else if it did.

Winning your first one.
Or first one with that squad is very hard..the pressure builds and builds.
Arsenal are so emotional and after fucking up so many times they make the pressure on themselves worse.

But with city after october we always go on a run win game on game on game.
We love the pressure the players embrace it.
Be lovely to watch arsenal collapse again.
Pep destroyed that toothy **** .
And he will ruin legohead next

Aston Villa were beaten by the dippers. They aren’t all that especially away from home.

It’s all over. I can’t see any way that all conquering Arsenal with the best squad ever assembled on these shores could blow a 4 point lead

Hopefully we can sneak into the top 6 and qualify for the europa league

We will have more performances like tonight in the second half of the season and that's why we will probably miss out, only just.

We are a very good team, but I still think this season is just one season too soon.

Arsenal have been preparing 6 years for where they are now. We are 12-18 months into a rebuild.

Watch out for us in the CL though.
