Don't think it's acceptable to say he has 3, 4, 5 men around him when he does nothing to create separation. He's hiding behind defenders in the box and it's doing my head in. We can't get the ball to him because more than half the time, he isn't showing for it.
There are 2 different scenarios here and he treats them differently. .1) He makes early runs in our build up when we have the ball in our half and often doesn't get a look... This is his preference. The quick strike. But it's clearly not Pep's or Pep doesn't think he has the players to execute this accurately often. Either way, this failure to pass to him when he makes an early rum is infuriating. For him and us as fans who see it time and time again.
2nd, after the slow ponderous passing around in our half finally gets to the other half, he often has spent a good 3 minutes walking aimlessly from side to side waiting between 3 defenders in a crowded space, by the time someone decides to pass into the box he is often demotivated...
That said, the part that is still his fault is still on him... He needs to know when there is an attack afoot... FFS, even the opposition knows... When it gets to Doku's feet, something about to happen, get ready. .. When its with Nunes on the flank, a cross is on the horizon... When its at Cherki's feet, he might conjure up something or pass back to keep Pep happy, this one is more 50/50
Everyone and their grandma know this, so he cant act lackadaisical in any of these scenarios. If the Nicos, Rodri, Bernado, the Center backs, Antoine, etc have the ball, in 5he mid he can relax and go about his gazing... As nothing is about to happen... :(
We are that predictable. If the other team can see it, Haaland should be able to too
