9 | Erling Haaland - 2025/26

It feels to me like he's saving himself for the world cup with norway, half hearted press, doesn't get stuck in,now the goals have dried up he doesn't look like a professional footballer.
needs a few weeks on the bench to buck his ideas up.

The past is when he was the best player at home to Newcastle in the league.
You see, thats part of the problem. There is an Erling that we see in a few games where its clear he is leaving everything on the pitch (Newcastle, man U home). There is an Erling who doesn't but will score a goal or two and then there in an Erling who looks lazy and spurns the chances he gets. Unfortunately we are mostly getting the third Erling and we know he can do better than he is.

Needs dropping, don’t buy into this myth that we don’t get the best out of him either. Even if that’s the case he’s still fully able to run about and use his physical strength to win us the ball every now and then.

Some fucking horrendous posts in here about Erling! Cherki came on last night and instantly set him up? When he scored all them goals he had KDB? He needs service on that’s on the manager being brace and playing Cherki who makes things happen?!
Doku passed to him for a tap in and he missed. Same finish against Sunderland. He’s not finished his breakfast since the start of 2026. Yes I blame Pep for the lack of service but there have been games where Haaland has cost us with his lack of movement and initiative.

The team just isn’t functioning at tge minute and I think he’s second guessing rather than his natural talent and instinct?

Either stat Cherki with him or if you don’t stat Cherki, drop him as at the moment when Cherki is not playing we have 10 on the pitch with Erl

I wonder if his lack of performances after December is related to him becoming a new dad and not getting enough sleep.

I'll never question the guy's motivation or ability but it is interesting how it all lines up.

Wish him the best and if I'm right.. good night's sleep before games!

For £500k a week, he should be making sure that he's getting enough sleep. It's not like he can't afford a nanny to sort the nipper out at night.

Don't think it's acceptable to say he has 3, 4, 5 men around him when he does nothing to create separation. He's hiding behind defenders in the box and it's doing my head in. We can't get the ball to him because more than half the time, he isn't showing for it.
There are 2 different scenarios here and he treats them differently. .1) He makes early runs in our build up when we have the ball in our half and often doesn't get a look... This is his preference. The quick strike. But it's clearly not Pep's or Pep doesn't think he has the players to execute this accurately often. Either way, this failure to pass to him when he makes an early rum is infuriating. For him and us as fans who see it time and time again.

2nd, after the slow ponderous passing around in our half finally gets to the other half, he often has spent a good 3 minutes walking aimlessly from side to side waiting between 3 defenders in a crowded space, by the time someone decides to pass into the box he is often demotivated...

That said, the part that is still his fault is still on him... He needs to know when there is an attack afoot... FFS, even the opposition knows... When it gets to Doku's feet, something about to happen, get ready. .. When its with Nunes on the flank, a cross is on the horizon... When its at Cherki's feet, he might conjure up something or pass back to keep Pep happy, this one is more 50/50

Everyone and their grandma know this, so he cant act lackadaisical in any of these scenarios. If the Nicos, Rodri, Bernado, the Center backs, Antoine, etc have the ball, in 5he mid he can relax and go about his gazing... As nothing is about to happen... :(

We are that predictable. If the other team can see it, Haaland should be able to too

The brighton miss from 4 yards out haunts me.

Then the excuse will be he's knackered from shagging the nanny

It's the other players they dont pass to him
He's marked by 5 defenders
He's fatigued from running last month
He's mentally struggling
He's out of form
He's saving himself for the World Cup
He's not getting enough kip
He's doing the babysitter
He's worried Leeds may get relegated.
Boots ran out of Head and Shoulders and his house now looks like Norway at Xmas
He's suddenly missing Norway
He's suddenly missing Xmas.

:-)
