Thierno Barry's mates get filled in, in the away end

This feels very close to what can happen in our away End across the country.

Apparently Barry has got numerous tickets for his family and friends in the away end, they've celebrated the 89th minute winner and some of them have taken tops off to celebrate in Arsenal gear.

All that's wrong in modern football
Got what they deserve

Apparently they jumped up celebrating the second Arsenal goals showing off their Arsenal shirts. Bizarre if true and why are Everton giving their players tickets for mates in the away end?!
If you do that then you deserve a slap. End of errand! Be humble.. but Arsenal fans don't seem to recognise that word.

Symptomatic of the new breed of ‘outsiders’ who don’t understand the tribalism that comes with English football , and I absolutely include the decision makers in our club amongst them - they lap up the passion , the atmosphere and the intensity that the support brings but are actively diluting it at every turn by encouraging a new audience who are happy to pay top dollar for an ‘event ‘ but have no real affiliation to said team - sad sad state of affairs

In an ideal world, the most they'd have got would have been a load of abuse, and an invitation to vacate the premises. But it ain't an ideal world. Every man and his dog knows that if you're sat in the midst of the rival fans, you should keep your mouth shut. Throw in the possibility of some of those Tarqs being pissed/coked up, and you have the distinct possibility of trouble. If Barry knew that his friends were Arsenal fans, should he not have told them to "sit on their hands" and keep their mouths shut?

Football is full of emotion.
I'm a fairly placid guy in life but sport, whether playing or watching, brings my emotions to the boil.

So to watch my team and see someone in OUR end celebrating an opposition win or goal and I know I'd be hoping they got a slap.
It was like when a gobby spurs fan was in our end in the CL. He was celebrating quietly (but still celebrating) when they took the lead.
He got a reminder!
Then when Aguero scored he got a slap and sent on his way!
The goal, as we all know was ruled out and he stood outside laughing!

Now I'm a decent bloke, but at that moment I wanted the smug tw&t to get a reminder to celebrate with his own!!!!!

Hes dropped his lifelong fanbase in it, being a high profile, London game the away end there has above average fam, wags, friends. Eg this season the Foden family and 2 blokes clearly related to Kushanov with appropriate headgear. There to support their friends team. Our branch of lifelong season tkt holders were allocated 2 tickets hence anyone not supporting City would have been slapped possibly by Phils mum or Khusanovs brother!927.jpg926.jpg

I got a ticket off an Everton player for Bournemouth away recently - he put over a dozen at the ticket office for us. I expect that Bournemouth players can do the same for the return fixture.

I might be in the minority and I'm certainly not condoning it, but i can 100% understand someone losing their cool after watching someone celebrate a winner against their team in the away end particularly in the last minute and particularly when you've traipsed the country for many years to be eligible to attend these games, to watch someone who doesn't give 2 shits about your club, and doesn't have the decency to respect the fan around them.

I’d go one step further and say I do condone it. If someone goes up celebrating in the away end, for a home team goal, it’s totally deserved if you get whacked.

Barry is a fucking idiot and so are his friends. The football authorities should come after him, not the fans who quite rightly gave them a slap.

Barry has had the audacity to complain too In an Ideal world we all know football fans should be able to sit together but anybody with half a brain knows thats not possible. Barry should be charged for giving tickets to Arsenal fans in an area reserved for Everton fans so inciting trouble. If i was an Everton fan id also want the thick **** booted out of my club. It's not like they'd miss him he's absolutely dogshit.

These days it is possible to sit together in all but the partisan area of the home fans and in the away section.

Even then, if you don’t actively support the opposition, you’ll probably be alright.

If you wear opposition colours, then you pretty much deserve what may happen to you.

That away end at Fulham? There is one section of it that does seem to be exclusively for away fans (heading over towards the "near" corner flag). But I've seen games there on the telly where there "appears" to be a mix of fans directly behind the goal. But let's be honest; how many grounds would you get away with that at?

Neutral ends don’t really exist, but away fans have infiltrated home ends since the dawn of time.

Barca and Real Madrid probably have tourist sections, rather than neutral ones.
