Back four plus Rodri and Haaland can deal with their set pieces as we should leave Doku, Cherki and Nico on half way line so they have to leave at least three if not four back.

Feel unusually pessimistic about tomorrow. Can’t help thinking we’re too poor defending set pieces at the wrong time. Arsenal are very good but a miserable watch.

We really really need the likes of Haaland, Bernardo, Rodri and Dias to step up tomorrow. We have some incredibly players but we need our leaders to make an impact.

Looking at the Arsenal subreddits it seems there's a few Gooners with tickets in the City end.

Not sure how that is possible as surely City handle their allocation, which would I imagine prompt checks that the buyers are City fans.

Why weve not tried this more/at all is anyone's guess!! But to try it in a cup final would be interesting to say the least. Knowing Pep he'll probably start without Rodri or Nico G ;)

I suspect that Pep doesnt think the forwad passing into the forwards would be good enough or there isnt enough forward running witht he ball in the midfield

However play that double pivot with Stones at centre half and it could actually release either Rodri or Nico G a bit further forward as well. as his passing between the lines is exceptional (and something we have really missed over the last two seasons)

If CHerki and or Foden were a bit moer dynamic defensively I suspect we would be better at playing with two 10s and one pivot but neither are....previously we had David Silva, KDB and GUndo all who were more dynamic either running with the ball or had the ability to win it back ...neither Cherki or Foden do have that ain them enough - again another reason we have been struggling with balance in the midfiled

Interstingly this is where Anderson comes in (If we were to get him).....he adds dynamism in midfield going forward, passing forward and also defensively very sound as well. ..if we do get im next years set up could see the return of the two tens (cherki and foden) with Anderson and Rodri/Nico G in the pivot....

Breaks, corners/set pieces are where everyone thinks arsenal will beat us.....but I think they will win the game in midfield....our balance so far this season has been way off and against a good team then i think thats where we come undone....

Haaland once again will be starved of any service/chances and will be isolated against the centre half pair of Arsenal

The EFL have confirmed that Peter Bankes will be the referee when Arsenal take on Manchester City in the Carabao Cup final.

Neil Davies and Steve Meredith will be his two assistants, while Tom Bramall will serve as the fourth official.

As for VAR, John Brooks has been tasked with that responsibility, and he will have Dan Robathan as his assistant in front of the screens.

We play better without this version of haaland, the arse defence will bully him into
Submission. All too easy for them whereas against more threat from the wings and maybe a cherki gives them more to think about. Won’t happen though so I really hope big erl is really up for this.
