Tino Livramento

As above - there are probably better right backs than MN out there but they would cost 70m for a narginal upgrade. Given the midfield issues we need to focus the resources there. So either a young player to develop or even an older player as an option the way forward. MN has been superb and may even be able to get better at RB.

He’s a massive downgrade on Nunes not a marginal upgrade.

It doesn't matter if he's a little bit better or a little bit worse than Nunes. The fact is we need one more good right back. We can't have only Nunes because we've all seen what happens when Nunes is out injured.
Don't think Livramento's potential role in our squad would be worth what Newcastle may be demanding for him. Maybe his injuries this season have knocked the price down, but I can't see the club thinking that much is worth it for someone who would just be a rotation/cup player.

We have three wonderful full backs, Nunes, NicoO, RAN. I think every one of them would feature in a top 5 or 6 list of full backs in Europe. We are well served and we have Lewis, Khus, Guardiol, Nathan who can all play the position if required. Is there anyone looking likely from the academy? We certainly don't need Livramento, Hall etc.

Lewis and Ake are most likely out this summer and I think Khusanov has earned his place at CB to not have to deputize as a right back.

Ideally an academy player or someone we can get inexpensively who wouldn't mind being a rotation option. Agree Livramento, Hall or someone of that status would be overkill for our needs at the moment.

I guess the biggest plus to Livramento is he can play both sides. Nunes is brilliant and deserves to be first choice but someone to rotate with him and Ait Nouri would be amazing, like Cancelo could play both sides.

Also seriously and regularly injured.
I think his injury record, although not great, is actually exaggerated. Look it up.

I think the biggest issue is the fee, you aren’t paying 60-80m for a player to rotate with Nunes/AitNouri. Nunes is one of the best RB in the world.

I think he’s a great player.

Pep would turn this guy into the world's best right back. He's seriously talented.
What’s he actually good at?

He’s not a defensive monster.
He’s not an attacking full back.
He doesn’t invert.
He’s not particularly quick.

He can play both sides and is home grown, but he wouldn’t play either side for us, apart from in an injury crisis or resting our best full backs.

You could say the same about Nunes.

I agree the fee isn’t really viable.

But don’t doubt player development here.

On the record if much prefer Nunes as our first choice RB.

Livramento has talent but hasn't really shown anything to warrant the mooted fee. Nunes has shown himself to be very good defensively, great at progressing the ball and he is rapid.
