Rodri - The 2024 Ballon d'Or Winner! (Pg 131)

60 to 70 million would be great business.
An absolute legend and always will be. We have ceetainly had the best of Rodri.
Why would anyone not want him to be happy? If he wants to see out his career back in Spain then teams know the asking price othereise he will go on a free I presume at the end of next season.
Being in Istanbul that night will always be one of my greatest memories.

He was superb on Sunday against supposedly the best midfielder in the country and laid on a superb reverse pass to Nunes to cross for our second goal
That pass was incredible. This was one of his best games he’s played for us since his comeback.I feel like he’s getting back to his best which is great news for the remainder of the season. Absolutely fucking love the guy and reading that quote gave me a pit in my stomach.

So, so disappointed with him... totally appreciate the fact the journo was after this response, but fook me... he has the intelligence and diplomacy to understand how his response would be received/perceived....totally lost all respect for him today...not even mithered about a fee for him... just make sure he is engaged until may 27 and wash our hands of him... even if he stays, that moment in istanbul will never, ever feel the same...
Much more to be worried about in life.
Or…..
You’re a wum, red supporting, sycophant that gets off on dropping in on other forums.
Real fans, and you are clearly not one of them, would never have such a ridiculous take on a player that will live forever in our history.
Unlike you.
Or you’re pissed and will regret your post in the morning?

I’ve read a lot of shit on here over the years but this is right up there.
There are some absolute dick heads on here, aren’t there? How can it never feel the same if he goes?!

For me, if he goes we’ve had prime Rodri that we’ll never see again. He goes with mine and I’m sure, most of our blessings other than dick heads like that fucking idiot.

As good as he is he’s nowhere and never will be anywhere near 2023 level after that injury and his age he’s looking for his last big pay day and the club rightly won’t give it to him. If he stays well and good if he leaves I won’t lose any sleep over it

He hasnt said much that most footballers dont say when asked these type of questions. He also said he likes the prem league

He has one year left on his contract....

Madrid dont usually pay for player with one year left.....so everyone knows what is coming......

I think he will stay next year and leave on a free - he will be 30 by that point....and gives us a year to find his replacement or a different way of playing without him.

We have had his best years so no complaints from me.

Scorer of one our most iconic goals.
Excellent midfielder that has developed hugely with us.
I won’t be drawn into the debate about his interview and his responses.
I haven’t seen it, only the quotes people have put on here.
It was obviously in Spanish so some context can and does sometimes get lost.
He was asked direct questions about Real Madrid.
He answered honestly, it would appear.
From my perspective it doesn’t lessen what he has done for us and what he has given us in the prime of his career.
If he goes in the Summer and we get a fee, good luck to him. If he stays for another year until his contract expires, fair enough. If he signs for a few more years for a few quid more, I’ll continue to cheer for the lad.
Much ado about nothing but then again I’m not tainted by the sensationalism of social media and the like.
And, no Spanish player wants to get on the bad side of the Spanish press, esp with a World Cup on the horizon.

“Nod and say nice things about everyone!”

Very pragmatic, but I’d like to see us offer him enough to induce him to stay!

I’d offer him a banger 2 year deal with an understanding that it is only 2 yrs to allow him to leave on a free at 32, and enjoy his golden years in Spain, and not a slight. If he’s happy to sign for 3 or 4, I’d be all over it!

In his position, and with no further injury concerns, 34 is a cake walk!

I'm not so sure Real can afford both Rodri and Haaland this summer. Rodders may have to wait until next January.
What's funny is that Madrid fans don't want him. All the top posts on the social media about this story is them saying they don't want a 30yo player who is injury prone. Maybe we should ship him to Atletico. Haaland has a contract until 2034, his price would probably be around 350mil so nobody can afford him except PSG and the Saudis but he doesn't wanna go to France or Middle East so we're more than safe with Erling.

I was being sarcastic. Its all we hear, Haalands off to Madrid and now Rodders has made a comment he's going as well. I'm not sure I can take both going, plus the 115 charges means were travelling to Gillingham away
(Next time I'll put a smiley.)
