PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

O'Shea did play in United's youth team to be fair - I think it might've been another Arsenal v United game where no United academy player was in the squad? I had this argument with a United fan because he was claiming the Da Silva twins were in United's academy when they weren't - they were signed direct from Fluminense and parachuted straight into the first-team dquad

O’Shea was bought from Bohemians (not the) he wasn’t an academy product.
The academy myth has transformed over the millennia from:
Manchester born Matchday team
Manchester born matchday squad
Matchday team
Matchday squad
Academy bought-in matchday squad.

But… if you have a better example than mine, I’d like to know it

I think he might be saying that John O Shea was bought in, that he does not qualify as an academy player.

He never had a youth contract at united, he was signed on a professional contract when he was 17

Does that make him a youth product of united? I’d suggest not, not that I’m arsed either way

Just wish this would be done and dusted, sick of trying to explain to dickhead mates that they don't have a clue what there on about.
Get replies like you city fans are in denial, your getting relegated.blah blah blah.
It's annoying.

Fuck em, just have to wait this out and the tears from clubs, rival fan bases, the media when this goes the way they don’t want it will be biblical. Don’t even engage with people trying to educate them as they won’t abandon their prejudices, they want City gone and wiped off the map because they have been more successful than their club over the last decade and a half. It’s got fuck all to do with fair play and it’s no coincidence one of our accusers is a billion and a half in the red and another one has built a beautiful stadium, showed no ambition in the transfer market and is right in the middle of a relegation fight.

Yep, fair enough mate. In fact, yes, I think the original argument from United fans was that an academy player has actually played in every match rather than just been in the squad. This might well be the game where I argued with that United fan that the Da Silva twins were never in their youth team as they both featured in that match. He had no argument when I told him that they'd both been bought from Fluminense and never played any youth team games for them

Of course, Wiki isn't always right and it could be some United fan who's come up with that. I can't find any reference to him ever playing any youth team games and like you, I'm not arsed to be honest!

I note that they pretty much ignored us through the entire league stage of the CL this season.

He definitely played for united’s youth team

For me it’s the same as claiming Iheanacho was a City youth product, which I wouldn’t consider him to be

Unfortunately if/when we are exonerated there will be zero tears by the MSM/YOUTUBE ACCOUNTS/TALKSHITE etc etc…..a favourable outcome for City will swept under the carpet quicker than a rat up a drain pipe, now if we’re found guilty…..well that’s another thing all together.

Why bother the same fucktards believe that Man City had no fanbase pre 2008 when the facts says uts bollocks ............why aint City been done when Everton and Chelsea have is another belter ............do these fucktards not get the justice system ????
Now this magical 60 points has suddenly appeared :) despite no indication that fook all is happening ..

The other point is that the vast maority of clubs, especially below the PL, will have had at least one locally-produced player in their match squads for their entire history. It was the norm for most clubs up to about 20 years ago. I wouldn't be susprised if we had achieved it but no one has ever checked. It is just another false PR narrative from United's spin doctors.

Quite hilarious when Forest fans "you cheating bastards" when they are the club who have been found guilty , fined and deducted points , were as we are as pure as the driven snow , no charges upheld or likely to be , they believe everything social media f*cktards say or print. My only concern is our club doesnt appear to be in any rush to draw a line under this bullshit , lets get the thing done and move on , no matter what decision is made , we are now tarred as cheats. The club needs to go for the naysayers and critics and take them to the cleaners , get another 100 lawyers on the pay roll and lets get the f*ckers in court.

I wouldn't class him as being a youth product at the rags, same way as I wouldn't consider Mukasa a City academy product.
