There's the age old question of what is the hardest to do -

A 147 break in snooker
A hole in one in golf
a 9 darter in darts

For me, the 147 break is the hardest, then the 9 darter and lastly the hole in one - you can have one lucky shot and get a hole in one.

But.........the one with the best reaction, most emotion is the 9 darter

I'm sure there will be stats on it somewhere but I'd have thought that a hole on one was the most difficult, followed by a 147 at snooker and then a 9-darter but I may be completely wrong of course.

Any amateur can fluke a hole in one. You can't fluke a 9 darter or a 147

The question is usually framed (no pun intended) towards an amateur player. If that’s the case then I would probably agree, 147 break is 100% the hardest.

For a professional, hole in one is probably the hardest, 9 darter is definitely the easiest.

I've always said the same, but the stats for pros say a hole in one occurs less than the other two per par 3 / frame / leg.

You could though argue that's pros aren't going for the hole on every par 3 tee shot, and similar for a 147, whereas in darts you're always looking for the least amount of throws per leg.

As an amateur I reckon its easier to fluke a hole in one and you'll never do the other two.

As a fluke maybe but to do it with any degree of regularity/skill?

I doubt even the worlds best golfers do it many times in their career. I maybe completely wrong but I would guess the top darts and snooker players shoot 9-darters or 147s more often than top golfers get a hole in one.

All are, of course, extremely difficult.

Professional golfers won’t even aim at the pin most of the time due to wind and green undulations, whereas professional dart and snooker players strive for perfection at the start of each leg/frane.

It’s interesting though. The odds of them happening statistically aren’t that different. Ranging from 2700/1 to 2950/1.

Guess that’s changing in darts now as more players are hitting them more often.

Seve Ballesteros didn't get a hole in one in his whole pro career.

Wade was rubbish in that final. If he has been even 10% better he would probably have won. Average from Littler all tournament but he knows how to win.

Gian was getting stick while going for D15 on his second dart, and went inside. Turned round glaring at the crowd and Littler threw his arms up at him basically saying stop moaning, get on with it.
On dutch television Gian is saying that Littler was hyping the crowd/celebrating the D15 miss.

So Littler can moan about German fans and threaten to boycott tournaments there. But, when he's in his adopted hometown (just because he supports the team from there, not even his local team) it's ok for him to egg the crowd on? Gian done nothing wrong there and Littler made a right wanker of himself
