Gabriel headbutt on Haaland

I'll come round your house then and do that same motion in an argument with your missus/ daughter/ fella/ son and see how forgiving you are then.

Yes because that’s the same context isn’t it! Like I said, if you want football to be that softened then that’s fine. It’s not for me though. I’d rather keep red cards for actual violent conduct.

On the tele after the game haaland said to the studio that if he had gone down the ref might pull the red card, but he is not that kind of player and I like that. But it’s a red card for me and everyone in the studio said the same thing, but my thought if Taylor got I wrong where the hell is VAR??

And how could the ripping shirt of insident not get a yellow he saw it with is one eyes. Stam asked haaland what he got for explanation from Taylor he said you both pulled each other, there where so many insident for Gabriel on haaland it felt like they did wrestlemainia, Haaland did his part also it takes two to tango but is this what we want to see in today's football.

I wanted a red card in the stadium but having seen the full thing up close I can understand Taylor's decision. We want decisions to be made "in the spirit of the game" and fair enough, Taylor called it based on that.

Haaland pushes Gabriel first and then leans his head in, trying to wind him up. Gabriel leans his head back into Haaland to stand his ground, then flicks his head towards Haaland as Haaland leans in a bit more.

It's two young lads in a really tense game butting heads. I would have given Gabriel a red personally but I understand Taylor's decision to just give them both yellows, give them both a warning, and stop it boiling over.

Reminded me of Walker's head flick at Jahanbakhsh in the FA Cup semi-final in 2019, vs Brighton. Walker probably should have gone that day but the ref understood the scenario and let him get away with it.

Taylor was the referee then as well.

I don’t think Gabriel’s actions should warrant a red card, I thought it should a yellow. I realise that most people now do want that as a red and so I want the laws of the game updated to reflect that if that’s the case and be a lot more descriptive. It’s not what I actually personally want but people can’t deal with subjectivity nowadays and in a post var world that’s even more prevalent.

Even so If someone did go down feigning injury from what Gabriel did, I’d want to see them yellow carded. Trying to con referees to me should always be punished.

He was class in staying up but we all know that if it was an Arsenal player he would have been diving all over the floor .............sad world that honesty aint rewarded but being a cheating bastard is ..............

A red card for something thats been a red card for years isnt softening football.

It hasn’t though, it’s always been down to interpretation of the amount of force and referees have always differed in how they’ve managed particular games. Some give it, some don’t, that’s always been the case. If you’ve had it given against you, you want to see it consistently applied, that’s all, and people forget when it isn’t given in their favour.

If you personally want to see them given, fair enough. I don’t.

Yeah, of course haaland is going to grapple back if he's getting pulled around by gabriel and saliba. What pisses me off is that by initiating the foul, arsenal are then allowed to escalate it without penalty because "they both have a hold of the shirt". Like no shit, but the foul was initiated by the arsenal defender and by letting it go you're letting them cheat. Just fucking mind numbing how big erl gets officiated.

It has been a nailed on red card 99 times put of 100 for years.

I want to see the rules applied equally no matter the team or match cirumstance.

If you dont fair enough.
