4 | Tijjani Reijnders - 2025/26

I think people are being a bit too harsh on him. He has more goal involvements than Szoboszlai for who people are drooling all over and more goals than Gundogan in his first 2 seasons with us. At worst he can be a substitute midfielder which you always need.

Gundog was coming back from injury so fuck off , Reijnders was fit as a fiddle, has he blown me away ? no.

He has more goal involvements than the guy who’s played RB most of the season for Liverpool and Gundogan on the back of 2 major knee surgeries?!!!

Well that’s completely changed my view on him.

The concern is that Reijnders was a standout player, but in a league that is no longer considered A-tier.

The italian league has suffered with an influx of low level talent due to the clubs lacking the finances to buy quality players - the league is even struggling to develop home grown talent, hence the state of the italian national team.
When players like McTominay start ripping the league to bits. You know it's sub standard.

I don't care if we take a loss on him. He just can't be in our squad next season taking minutes from players who chip in with more besides the odd goal here and there.

Eh?

Not as bad as Marmoush but also see little reason to keep.

Kovacic is better than him in Bernies role, and we are likely to get an Anderson type for that spot too.

Then for Cherkis spot we can just play Foden.

So what's the point to him?

His overall ability is ok but he's happy to just let games pass him by. No fire at all. You either have that or you don't.

Can't see him making huge improvents.

Shame because I think if he had a bit of grit about him, he could use his ability more but that's not going to change at his age.

He's just a pretty decent player but happy enough to coast and blend into the game anonymously.

Was the invisible man song meant for this guy ? Just doesnt contribute enough , he had a chance to make his mark today , big game, Wembley, but a big disappointment

Nowhere near as bad as others today. I think he's definitely a player that needs to be in a good team if that makes sense? If he has top players around him and a system that is firing, he'll look world class. But when the team is disjointed he struggles more than most.

That’s fine for forwards but a midfielder at Manchester City should never have that trait.

Had hopes he'd be a more exciting player.

He's just anonymous for 90% of games though, pops up with a few late runs into the box and pot shots from outside the area but that isn't enough to carry the lack of everything else he does.

Always feel players deserve a couple of seasons, but his issue is he isn't young, and its hard to imagine he develops the areas he's weak at to a level required.

Imagine he'll stay, but probably as a back up player for one more season.
