Elliot Anderson | Opening bid rejected (p189)

Won 33% of his duels tonight, 80% of his passes from central midfield too and not a single cross of his found a Forest player

But he scored so he was fantastic. A Match of the Day performance, which I personally feel he has too many of rather than a 90 minute one.

I'm not sure how you can get to that conclusion - his stats this season indicate he is consistently putting in substantial effort. You can't top interceptions, tackles, duels etc statistics across the season (with some being the highest in Europe) with 'MOTD' performances.

After probably watching another City performance and comeback, and another FA Cup final, and possible trophy, I’m sure Elliot does want to sign for City. Whilst over at the Swamp United play on Monday night against Brentford with nothing to play for, as a CL place is pretty much already secured.

It’s a tuff decision, City or United? ;-)

Looks a good player to me, some of the transfer fees being put out there are ridiculous though.
65-70 million i can see but anything much over that and i'm not sure he's worth that

Anderson will be a good buy.
He is young, will improve , plays at an 8/10 level , plays alot of games, lessens the workload for Rodri, energy and power, 90 minutes of stamina,
Though no elite level skills, he can become the "glue" like Bernardo.
Having said that 70 mil is tops and I am sure we wont go above that.
Wharton is technically better, but Anderson fits the bill for our needs.

Wharton better why ? And why is Anderson a better fit ?

Wharton and Anderson are two different type of player tho

Wharton is deep lying playmaker/ controller and Anderson is box2box engine

if Rodri leaves, id imagine we go after both then, but with Silva leaving and Tijjani not working out so far Anderson has priority

I said better technically, first touch, vision, did not say a better player. Imo for what we need Anderson is a better fit, though personally I like Wharton.
We have gifted talent in abundance, We need the work rate and all round skills that Anderson would provide, just my opinion, and others are available.
If we continue to play with 4 attackers then Anderson has the attributes to compensate for the baskerball situations we find ourselves in during certain games. Rodri and Bernardo havent those attributes at present.

What are you expecting to see?

I think hes quite comfortably in the top3 midfielders in the country, the stats back it up and so does the eye test.

I want a midfielder as good as Declan Rice. Especially for the £100m or so Forest want.

Personally I’d rather we offered arses £200m for the real thing, we’d win everything every season and they’d waste it on average shite.

I want a midfielder better than Rice!!! He's not better than Nico G if we're being honest

As good as Declan Rice? Jesus Christ, do you seriously watch him and not see his deficiencies? The list is as long as the nose on Rashford’s face.
