He definitely does have a bit of a self serving ego but you also have to remember this is a fanbase who turned on Bale for very little reason and he wasn't the first.

I certainly think there's an element of truth about his attitude but maybe being blown out of proportion because he's who they want to blame. Awful fan base, if you can even call them that, most of their "fans" are just idiots with a twitter that have never been to Madrid.

He has been their best player this season and doesn't seem to lack effort or anything when I see him play for them.

Mbappe and Bellingham both suffer from what the kids would call "Main character syndrome". They both think they have be the one to do everything, they have to be the most adored, score the most, be the man instead of the best player in a team.

If Pep and Mbappe were put on a team together it would go 1 of 2 ways. Either Pep's superstardom and status would eclipse Mbappés and he'd learn to be a cog and end up 2x as good, or they'd fall out in a year.
