Of course the premier league and the pot of gold is the holy grail but is the championship more fun?

No, its shit :) No Var is the only decent thing about it at least you can celebrate without waiting for the goal to be ruled out for some spurious reason.
But on the whole its a long slog, more changed kick off times, no cap on away tickets, incredibly difficult to get out of (the right way that is) fine for one season, but the champ is full of ex prem teams that are stuck there.

Good luck next season.

Personally 46 games is too many.

The football is nowhere near the same level, but it shouldn't be as it's not supposed to be as good.

We struggled this season to turn up so you're not getting tourists :)

Unfortunately as football does tend to look down it's nose at football that is "non-PL" I think you may be looking at it through rose tinted glasses :)

No. It's a tale for those relegated to hide behind to make themselves feel better. Look at how promotion is celebrated, every championship side and their fans wants to get out of it into the prem.

No var isn't a good thing, you get horrendous decisions made by officials not deemed good enough to be in the premier league.

Decent crowds? Okay, yeah they're not bad but are much smaller than the premier league and you'll be going to grounds that will give a fraction of the away tickets due to smaller stadiums, which will make tickets harder to get. oh and no away game price cap in the championship so enjoy £50 away tickets again.

Better atmosphere. Really? Look at the teams we play in the cup from lower divisions, there are loads of teams with proper tinpot atmospheres. There is nothing notably different in the championship. Also plenty of games are played in poor time slots, with lots more midweek games which don't help.

No tourists. There isn't no tourists, just fewer, tourists aren't nearly as big of a problem as some claim, and are preferable to empty seats.

Less anti-football? Based on what? It's just an inferior version, teams in the championship aren't all attempting to play free flowing football.

There isn't a single positive in that list.

Occasionally, if there's a clash between the PL and the Championship, I'll go with the latter. Depending on which teams are playing, obviously. Something like Sunderland vs Wolves wouldn't be attractive to me. Which I'll do tonight. There's more riding on the Millwall vs Hull game, in my opinion. Yes; Spurs can, mathematically, still go down. But I think West Ham are holed below the waterline. Momentum is everything, and Spurs seem to have it now. Whereas West Ham don't. We really need L***s to win tonight. Which doesn't come easy to me.

I’ve definitely seen a few games this season either as a neutral, or even when I’ve preferred one team over the other. It’s good to watch 2 teams trying to win, with a fair amount less cheating.

As well as the un-capped away tickets that's been mentioned, if City were in there we'd be 12.30 KO every other week. I've actually come to not mind them too much for home games but they just kill all the fun of an away game.

No VAR does not improve the standard of referring

Decent crowds? The last time we were in the EFL not one set of fans were decent to us!

Passionate support? Name one relegated team who have passionate enough support to the point that they get 32k fans in any league (City not included).

Why do tourists bother you. They want to watch little old City who won the lot for us! They just want to be a part of it!

Less Anti football? Watch our semi final v Madrid in 23' and tell me that's anti football?
Watch David Silva v Blackpool on his debut. Then watch his assist v United (in the 1-6). Then listen to KDB discuss David Silva being the best player he has played with!

You sound like a mard arse pal comparing the PL to the EFL because we havn't won it this year!

All your examples were from years ago.

Calm down, just putting it out there!

Mard arse who is highly delighted with a league cup win and will be over the moon if we win the FA CUP too

1) VAR is poorly implemented.
2) Decent crowds? Most PL games are sold out.
3&4) Passionate support and no tourists? I'll accept no tourists but they are better than empty seats. As for passionate support; why is it that so many people believe fans of PL clubs can't be passionate?
5) Less anti-football: So the Championship is full of free-flowing football is it, as it was in the Benarbia/Berkovic era? No Arsenal means less anti-football but I'd guess runaway leaders in any division will come up against massed defences.

I might have imagined this but I am sure that I have seen articles on the championship looking to introduce var in the next 3 years. This is going to go well when the supposed best officials can't get it right. How do you think the likes of Millwall supporters are going to react having to wait 5 mins for a goal to be ruled out.

Anything other than PL football is better. The only reason I watch PL is because my club are in it. I wish we werent tbh.

Me and my wife recently spent our time and money on going to see Crewe instead, so much better experience. Just dont need top notch/skilled/superstars to enjoy football and supporting.

Take VAR away then no ............... dont get me wrong the football in the PL is better but everything about it has become plastic pandering to a bunch of twats who aint got a clue about football
