You'd have been lynched for that 18 months ago. But his fanboys seem to have disappeared in the interim.
I always said we had the better end of the deal, selling Cole to the Kremlin dwellers, and putting the proceeds towards the purchase of Jérémy.

Some good individual players but only seem to be able to play as a team for 10-15 minutes before resorting to being individuals again. For me, they need an experienced manager and a spine of experienced players.

Christ. I get that you can't turn down the Real Madrid job even though it's a shambles off the pitch at times. But Chelsea? They're a shambles off and on the pitch all the time. What's in it for him? An eight-year contract paid off after one?

I think he'll do well if left alone to make his own decisions
What makes you think that's going to happen though?

There's also the little matter of the biggest ever loss in PL history, loads of average players on ridiculous contracts, and a squad that needs open heart surgery. How are they even going to improve the squad?

Alonso probably won't make Christmas with Chelsea let alone the end of the season. They have some serious issues to resolve and especially up front. That's five domestic finals since 2021 and not a single goal scored in regulation time. Their fans should expect more than just making finals.
