No free to watch UEFA finals this year

I’ve no love for the tv companies but this, like the Premier League, is down to them trying to get ever more cash for the rights to their competitions. If TNT have paid £450M for European competitions and then happened to have 3 English teams in finals, why would they not try to drive subscriptions on the back of that rather than give the games away, for free?

'UEFA is disappointed' the finals are not 'free to air'? That's UEFA, which owns the three competitions? That UEFA?! Surely it must've known about the rights purchaser's intentions or else guarded against them when agreeing the multi-million moolah contract? Yes, THAT UEFA?!

I know several members of my family and circle of friends think I'm (as James Taylor puts it) 'a little bit slow for the pace of the game', but nonetheless, it does seem rather odd that UEFA seems to have been blindsided by this?!

Appalling decision. And not least because, as a non-subscriber to these Interweb-Thingy channels, I was relying on it being screened on terrestrial television so I could boycott watching it because of the involvement of those letter writing, corner scuffling, referee surrounding, self-centred, cheating Tarquins.. now I have no excuse whatsoever for refusing to watch it and turning over to 'The Wheel' or somesuch else instead..!!

According to the reports, it’s in the contract that they must make ‘best endeavours’ to ensure the finals are free to air.
 
If you have any free to air Astra sat it's on RTL if you can put up with German commentary or conversely turn the sound off and listen to BBC radio/Talk sport

Yeah had satellite dish for 25 years 19.2E I think it is. Champions League final on ZDF the one with Crystal Palace is on Nitro. You can probably get dish receiver and installation for not much more than £100
