I feel like he'll go ahead with the extra season. Can't see him being happy limping out of the title race like that. The rebuild is nearly complete, a couple more pieces and another proper tilt at the big two trophies would be hard to ignore. If Maresca wants to take the role, he can come on for a season as assistant again and transition.

The alternative is for Maresca to take over now but for Pep to act as his consultant for a year.
