A disgraceful undermining of the Ticket Points system - again

I think everyone involved this has done a very good job of brushing it under the blue carpet and keeping quiet about it.

Only the Citizens Trust has asked questions, and as of yet, the club hasn’t responded to those questions, which isn’t surprising.

Why haven’t ‘City Matters’ and the OSC commented yet?

Because they couldn't be more in bed with the club if they tried and therefore will never challenge them on something like this.

Front of the third tier 537 and only heard Chelsea a few times. I actually made a note the first time was about 39 minutes. When they were on top a bit 2nd half I could hear them, but only one or two different songs.
Around us lots of singing but came from different directions and petered out sometimes. BUT, where we were sat, City sang more and were louder. A few times, especially the Johnny Stones, was epic.

Similar to my experience in 534. First time I heard Chelsea was around this time to ironically 'we forgot that you were here'. I don't know how the noise travels at Wembley, but I don't think we were that bad yesterday and certainly better than Chelsea.

Don't think anything will eclipse or get close to the Utd game in the treble season for obvious reasons. Atmosphere that day was better than Champions League final the following week.

got to give city ticket office some credit they sold level two tickets to chelsea fans with some tenuous link to city as they on mass buggered off at full time

and 225 + and no food is disgrace i'd want feeding all week for that

Block 541 was bouncing. Superb atmosphere and even better view. Wonder what the allocation will be like for the charity shield.
Allocation at the last couple of Wembley Community Shields we’ve played has been 31,500

Capacity at Cardiff is 75,000 so could be slightly fewer this time. But there may be not be the same demand for corporate and various other hangers-on with it being away from London so allocation may end up being not too different.

Like them or loathe them, If anything this has shown the independence of the OSC.

Anyway, I am still celebrating 2 Cup wins and I’ll leave the politics to others.!
How on earth has the club giving the OSC members early access to cheap cup final tickets outside the criteria every other fan had to adhere to proven their independence??

You've come to the party late with that question.
If you want the answer, please read the first 30 pages of this thread.

I’m talking about the fact that the club can’t respond on behalf of the OSC to the press release / letter.

Has anyone got their ticket points for being on the fa cup scheme or know when they usualy get added? Not had mine added yet...

Leave the cup scheme and join an OSC..no need to buy tickets for the earlier rounds at home but still get priority for the cheaper Wembley tickets. Sorted.

I’ve said for a while now the ticket points system needs looking at properly. I’m not saying scrap points altogether, but there’s definitely ways of making it fairer without upsetting people who’ve built loads up over the years.

• Keep points, but don’t let them completely dominate
Points could still decide priority windows and first access, but not make it basically impossible for everyone else.

• Bring in a ballot element
Once the top points holders get their share, the rest could go through ballots. Something like:
– 50% high points holders
– 30% ballot for mid/lower points
– 20% open ballot for eligible fans

At least that gives more fans a proper chance while still rewarding loyalty.

• Cap the advantage after a certain level
Once you hit a massive points total, extra points shouldn’t count as much. Feels like the same people end up getting everything otherwise.

• Reward recent attendance more
Put more weighting on the last few seasons instead of lifetime totals. Stops dormant accounts sitting ahead of active matchgoers.

• Sort the OSC allocations out
A lot of fans think OSC allocations are a bit too vague. More transparency would help, and maybe tie allocations more to actual attendance rather than just membership.

• Maybe introduce a bit of rotation
If you’ve already done loads of aways that season, your priority drops slightly for certain games. Doesn’t punish loyalty, just spreads tickets around a bit fairer.

No system’s ever gonna please everyone, but there’s definitely ways the club could improve it without completely binning the loyalty side of things.

Why touch the points system?

They're the ones who have been paying £50 for the past 14 years on Platinum to ensure they keep up. It's like being held to ransom. Myself and others HAVE to pay it or risk falling down the order.

There's plenty of away games to go around. Plenty that have gone to low points and there will be plenty more now Pep has gone. People only argue about the points system and them getting away tickets when Anfield, Old Trafford or a late season away title decider roll around.
