u18s lose PL final 5-1 v Chelsea/ Fri 22 May/ City+ & YouTube/ under 18s Premier League title decider (u18s PL).

Disappointing performance from City. They needed a bit more belief as they still had good chances before Chelsea got their 4th, we just didn’t look like we were up for it.

All over 5-1 now.

Overall a very good season from U18’s. A match too far.

Wonder why we picked what is clearly not our strongest team for a final.Eye on next year, players moving on maybe, something a bit strange about it .

Totally agree with your comments. As soon as as I saw our line-up I feared the worst. Why keep some of our stronger players on the bench when they are in form and we are playing for a national title. This manager does puzzle me with some of his team selections! Case in point - Jake Wain is not a left back but I can see why he didn't play Ollie Tevenan due to his lack of pace. Therefore a disappointing end to a very successful season. You have to bear in mind we were playing a top team who are vying with ourselves to be the best academy in the country. Here are my top 4 academies at this moment in time.
Man City/Chelsea/Man united and Aston Villa.
Moving onto next season here is what I believe a strong team to start the next campaign for the U18's.
GK: Ben Vickery/Finley Gigg (Both second year scholars)
RB: Jake Wain (2nd yr)
LB: Marlow Barrett (1st year)
CB: Yohann Obin (2nd yr)
CB: Freddie Lawrie (2nd Yr)
DM: Charlie Holt (2nd Yr)
AM: Xavier Parker (1st yr)
LW: Milo Martin (2nd Yr)
RW: Timeo Whisker/Sam Wadsworth (both 2nd yr)
CF: Teddie Lamb (2nd yr)
CF: Dexter Oliver(2nd yr)
Subs: All new intake- Caelan Cadamarteri (CF), David Eze (DM), Keir McMeekin(AM), Karim Cassim (Midfield)
Players moving up the the EDS:
GK: Max Hudson
RB: Dante Headley - could move between the two teams
LB: Ollie Tevenan
CB: Leke Drake
CB: Charlie Courtman
CB: Kade Braithwaite
DM: Harrison Miles
AM: Finley Gorman
AM: Tyrone Samba
LW: Christian Dunbar-Mcdonald
RW: Kylian Midwood
AM/CF: Floyd Samba
I make that twelve players to strengthen the EDS squad.

Interested to see how them older lads with the exception of Braithwaite and Samber who are proven at u21 cope with step up. I’m assuming Oliver Reiss will go up to U21 with them as well. Ben Wilkinson has won everything on offer at youth level so surely be looking for a new challenge this summer along with a good number of his players.
