It isn't hard to understand, as it would then need its own week, an extra week, but greedy clubs want an 8 game UCL group stage to milk the fans. Something had to give.

You would have to have another midweek round if it is was played last weekend of the seasonDon't understand,nothing to do with room why don't you just put the cup final the last weekend ?

Because 20 teams need to play on the last weekend, vs only two need to play in the FA Cup Final (and those games get moved to midweek while others still play their games that second-last weekend). It's now the new deal since two added matchdays for CL in new format so this will now be the way forward every season, unfortunately.Don't understand,nothing to do with room why don't you just put the cup final the last weekend ?

The big issues stopping that are the scheduling of the CL final coupled with Wembley being required for the playoff finals. It couldn’t be played on the final weekend of the PL as that compromises the integrity of the league by not playing all 10 games simultaneously and potentially eliminates a lot of drama and excitement.Don't understand,nothing to do with room why don't you just put the cup final the last weekend ?
There isn’t a solution that works unfortunately, especially as far as the broadcasters are concerned and we know too well that they hold all the cards.

you already do for the two finalists. So basically they have an approach right now which penalises the two finalists. Could easily have a complete midweek set of fixtures. The problem is trying to fit a 38-match PL programme alongside the CL, FA Cup, and the League Cup into the calendar. Germany, France, and Portugal have a 18-team top division. How long before Italy, Spain, and England follow?
