Champions League Final 2026 | Sat 30th May | Paris Saint-Germain v Arsenal

The Arse players celebrating like mad to win a corner just before half-time and then the ref blowing to stop the game before they could take the corner because they wasted time setting it up, was my favourite moment of the match.
Mine was much, much later than that.

196 passes in 120 minutes of football for Arsenal. Football is the winner.
I have already commented on that, others have too. It has nothing to do with club rivalry, by the way, I dislike them for what they represent. Period.

It's extremely important that this "strategy" (nothing less than a disgrace) was not justified in terms of the final result. You see, trends are defined by winners. Brazil failing in 1982, just an example, sent the wrong message to the football world. What followed was an era of negativity, forcing authorities to change the rules at the end of the decade. Because fans were losing interest, and football was dying...

That''s football dialectics for you. The whole world was watching, so thank God they won fuck all tonight. Otherwise Arteta's "approach" would provide inspiration to more cunts out there, eager to imitate him...

Final comment: There all a lot of Arsenal fans who fully communicate with this language. Especially the oder ones who grew up with Arsene's football. They are the ones who talk about the destruction of Arsenal's identity -and they are correct, of course. One of them even said "back to the Graham years" recently on social media. Which is unfair, really. When Graham's Arsenal won the league at Anfield on the final matchday back then, I remember him trying to control the celebrations within his squad. Those were "sensitive" days, if you understand what I mean, and the man showed respect. Arteta, on the other hand, as well as a lot of his players (not all of them, to be honest), represent completely the opposite...

Mikel Arteta will be remembered for his masterclass on anti-football, taking Mourinho's approach on another level. Officials in England have been closing their eyes for years, tolerating, pushing actually, a team which will not hesitate using all kinds of means so as to achieve its objective. I repeat, all kinds of means. "Whatever is necessary", for people who remember Richard Crenna's line in "Body Heat"...

This is brilliant, really like Cundy. City fan calls in telling Talksport he’s Arsenal to get on, then says it couldn’t have happened to a nicer guy RE Gabriel. Then the Arsenal fan crying about English fans not supporting them. Cundy saying switch on YouTube we’re PSG fans. Fucking delicious.

Why is a grown man calling another grown man bruv?

Mardarsenal? Give me strength.

So the thing is, when you won your PL after the Aguerooooo moment I'll bet that was the sweetest trophy and talk of trebles was far away from your mind. That's where we are. And I'd rather have the PL than the 2 domestic cups to be fair. Seems we're both happy so all is well
No, the thing is it's turgid, awful football that doesn't deserve rewarding and let's be honest, while you're right to celebrate it you only won the league because it's been a poor season where your only competition was a young team in transition that really didn't have any right to win anything.

Had Liverpool been at their usual level and you'd had more competition from the likes of Spurs, Chelsea, United who traditionally are usually a lot better than they have been this season you would probably have been lucky to get a Champions League place. You can't get away with playing the way you do forever and that match and the possession stats just proved it.

No penalties conceded all season? Why? Because one of your defenders sits on the floor every time a ball comes into the penalty area, hence you get the free kick before the opposition are in a position to become the victims of a foul that would lead to a penalty. 27 goals from set pieces? Time wasting on every throw in, every corner etc., goalkeeper going down with cramp in a match you're not even winning? It's appalling.

It's not sour grapes, we've lost the title to Liverpool, United, even Leicester and they were worthy winners. It hurt but we accepted it. You're just bloody awful. The media have been talking this week about you being one of the best in the world at the moment, Kroenke talking about you dominating for years. Sorry, but absolutely not a prayer. This type of football gets found out very quickly, first time you concede a penalty you lose the match against a poor PSG side.
