Christ. Couldn’t think of a worse downgrade than this. Tonali is a roadrunner suited to non-possession based football, Anderson is the full package.
Don’t believe that
For a start that would give the Geordies the funds to buy Anderson back
I don’t believe itYou realize 98.6% posted on this board is wind ups and bollocks- right?
Piano keys softlyI would say the same but he wouldn't be the first and it tends to never work out.

If Rodri goes we 100% need Anderson plus one.I'm of the mind that A) Rodri's keen on a move B) He will only ever be the player we saw last season which was about 75% what we were used to when he was at his peak. Yes... 75% Rodri is still upper shelf but...
Pretty sure B) goes a long way toward influencing A) and as such we need to get what we can for him now and eye replacements now. If he's fine running his deal down, he's earned that but I'd rather get what we can now than risk another season of him on and off the pitch... and getting zero return come next summer.
Refused to meet the demands of Wirtz bought Cherkie instead there are numerous examples of City walking away from deals and turning to next on the list with lots of successPosted this 9 days ago. It’s happening again. We’ll not go beyond £100m for Anderson and will spend about £150-200m over the coming seasons on players that are just not quite good enough when we could have got the one that is good enough for less than that. Sometimes ‘overpaying’ is the right thing to do.
I think that would work with O’Reilly as a midfield option.Out:
Bernardo
Gonzalez :-(
Phillips
Kovacic
In:
Anderson
Tonali
I don’t believe it

Agree, we are short in top quality midfielders. Besides I think Anderson and his team will want assurances that we are planning other top signings. Tonali isn't bad but I'd rather have Guimaraes and keep Rodders. Selling Rjeinders and Gonzalez will free up some much needed funds.fwiw I think even with Anderson, our midfield still requires an overhaul - we need at least one more player in there with proven classs.
Bernardo - gone
Kova is finished at the level required,
Nico G is debatable whether or not he is good enough
Reijnders - no where near good enough....hopefully he does get sold as otherwise he is literally taking up a squad space and weaken the squad drastically
If we are serious as Khaldoon has said about maintaining being a the top there is no room for any of them or any other player where there is significant doubt
Plus you have Rodri (ignoring that he is potentially flirting with Madrid) - he is coming to the end....1-2 years max left at anywhere near the top.....Unless madrid offer very good money we aint letting him go this season - we could let his contract run down and go to Madrid next season -that would be typical of us (taking control) and typical of Madrid (waiting for a players contract to run down)....
Even with Anderson (if we get him) that would be just him and Rodri at the required level - both cant start every week and maintain their levels (especially with the fitness concerns around Rodri)
Maybe we go for Anderson and Tonali....
We dont need 10's - We have that with Foden and Cherki..
