The "Swales Out" Campaign

You may be right about Sam Ellis, but as I remember it we had finished 5th, 5th and 9th. We had an awful end to that last full season and then a dodgy start to the next. The football wasn't exactly attractive either.
Swales promised Reid money to spend when he asked for it he was told it had all gone from the front the relationship was broken

He’d already sold his “bog roll business”
Not certain of the finances but he was still involved because I attended a meeting about the Kippax Last Stand in early 1994 and his son Gary was offering to get toilet rolls shredded to be released like streamers. In the end we used balloons and I was ina bizarre meeting where Bernard Halford told us we’d got the wrong shade of blue. He said we’d got Chelsea blue. The guy who’d brought them said they were sky blue explaining they would go lighter when blown up. Bernard didn’t believe him so the two of blew a couple of balloons up to prove the point. Bernard reluctantly agreed the blown up balloons were City blue.

Pretty sure he had sold out to Northern Foods, but the deal involved NF shares and a place on the board taking a less active role in the day to day running of the business I need to check the time line, just finished his autobiography but never remember details like dates
