Elliot Anderson | Opening bid rejected (p189)

There’s plenty of evidence he’s good enough to play in one of those midfields. He’s obviously not prime KDB or Rodri level but Anderson now, would have regularly played for City in 2021-2024. He’s absolutely mint.
I hope that you’re right but I’d be careful of suggesting he’s of the level you’ve mentioned, or of the level good enough to have played for a magnificent 2021-2024 City team.

Ray, last I checked, when we had the chance to sign him, you were one of the people saying he wasn't good enough for us. You questioned his quality, doubted whether he could make the step up, and dismissed the idea that he could become the player he is today.

Funny how things change. Now that he's proving himself at the highest level and showing exactly why some of us rated him so highly, the reality is becoming impossible to ignore. I guess you're finally starting to see what others saw long ago—that you were completely wrong about him.
The issue was when he became available we still had a fit Rodri on our books and the club decided Gundo's return was the best option and last time I checked Neves didn't cost PSG over £100m.

Making me laugh people comparing him to Ballon D'or season Rodri and prime De Bruyne.

Rodri was a 1000 miles off being Ballon D'or winner when we signed him and Kevin wasn't prime Kevin De Bruyne for another 3 seasons.

People's standards and expectations have turned borderline ridiculous. Writing off the highest rated and most promising all round English midfielder around before we have even signed him. Who do some people think they are?

Either 14 years old or a bit simple.

De Bruyne still won Bundesliga young player of the year and player before he signed for us. Rodri although not quite world class was still better (although not at the World Class levels) during his time in La Liga than what Anderson is coming to City at. Both were signed for less than what we are about to pay for Anderson. Some supporters don't have a heavy bias. If Anderson does start dictating the midfield of our Domestic and European rivals then fair enough he is worth his money.

Not exactly true. I know Atleti fans who werent hat bothered when he left. They thought Partey was better.

So have Anderson
Villareal were a regular top 4 side and he did win the Super Cup in his only season at Atleti Forest did have a good run in the European Conference league but were in a relegation battle (give him his due he did have a good first season at Forest).

Get it done City!

Give them £106m, so he can brag about the record fee, but who really cares, there's still a lot more expensive players in the league.

The more i watch him, with Bernardo now gone, this lad would be the ideal replacement.
I agree, but let's face it, this is going until August with us finally buying someone else for 50 million with a release clause instead.

Anderson is already out performing Rice on most levels he is now, and in the same scenario rice was in before joining arsenal of being in a team that yo-yos between top 8 and repegation.

But then I think rice is overhyped and not as good as the pundits overstate, this year Zubamendi being added and arsenals near impregnable defence covers a lot he is lacking in, and his offensive stats are near average at best, way off tge levels of rodders and ferdy.
