2026 Community Shield | Millennium Stadium | Sun 16th Aug, 3pm

Went on Blackpool play off at Cardiff in 2001 with my mates. Great pubs ,but would advise swerving the Owen Glendower. Was having a pasty opposite when a huge Cardiff mob piled out of the pub toconfront the seasides. Luckily the dibble were prepared and riot vans appeared from nowhere and Cardiff were forced back into the pub. Realise this is a quarter of a century ago and the " Soul Crew" probably have other hang outs, but think it's a place where a little caution is needed. They may well find City and Arsenal a different proposition than Blackpool and Leyton Orient.

Just booked my train tickets from Preston to Cardiff Central for £69.60.
I've never been to The Principality Stadium,so it will be another one to add to my list.
I went to the 1968 game Vs West Bromwich Albion at Maine Road, it was Bobby Owens debut and he scored 2 goals.
I went on the train to Villa Park in 1972, and I mainly remember the carnage outside the ground after the match.
Queuing to get onto the north bound platform at Witton Station and Villa fans were throwing bricks and stones at us, and the blonde haired girl stood next to me got hit, and blood was pouring from the cut and turning her hair red. And then we eventually got on the football special train and somebody ripped out a toilet seat and threw it at the Villa fans waiting to go back into Birmingham on the opposite platform. Crazy times attending football games back in the early 1970s.
And I finally went to the match at The King Power Stadium Vs Liverpool in 2022, which I think was Erlings debut game.

dont forget the one at ellend road

I went to that one and we all went in there end, they never turned up no trouble
It must have been a Leeds off day, I cant remember there not being trouble at games there in the 70s and 80s although I was just a bit too young for the CS one.

My first visit was March 75, Jesus what a day.

Concert at Wembley. We have never played at the Millennium. I think that is a big draw for sales. Its not as big either. A change is as good as a rest is my view.
Yes we have played at the millennium. It was the second leg UEFA cup against TNS and we took around 10k for a Thursday night dead rubber having won the first leg 5 v 0 I think.

All the way to Cardiff , fucking hell ha
I think you miss my point. I was there. The game could have been played anywhere given we were 5-0 up from the first leg. Their owners wanted Cardiff as they thought they’d get a massive crowd. TNS were based in Shropshire, nowhere near Cardiff. It was a long trek mid week

True enough, i was there and the atmosphere and game was dreadful.
The PS is, imo, the best situated stadium in the UK, miles better than Wembley but that night there were about 12-15 thousand in there and it was my worst visit to that stadium i've ever had. Made a few quid for TNS though.

Under 7k city fans the whole crowd was under 10k.

They should have held it at Wrexham, that stadium only had about 12k seats then and they thought they could double that at Cardiff.
