Just trawled through the thread (quickly), and most of the ones I'd have nominated (Van Halen, Queen, Cozy Powell, Dire straits) have been nominated. But, unless I missed it (not impossible!), I'm surprised no one's given this one the nod yet....

It’s a Roland CR-78 drum machine.

This track was actually also a drum machine on the album. I’m also not convinced the drummer is actually playing the drums here either

Instantly recognisable from the first few beats.

I loved the whole Two-Tone / Ska / Nutty Sound movement of the (very) late 70s and early 80s, and Mirror In The Bathroom is my favourite of all the songs from that time.

A fantastic offering from The Beat.

The Beat (with Dave Wakeling) are touring UK later this year, calling at The Ritz in October.
