Most Important City Goal

No title in 44 years. Those clowns with their “count” banner, Fergie saying it wouldn’t happen in his lifetime — and then to take the title away from THEM with that majestic leap. The symbolic push aside of the player/them was a beautiful moment. Without this, there is no Agüero moment. And doing it against United is why it’s the most important goal for me.

And it's Vinnie, he’s as good as one of our own!

Rodders v Inter.
When you think about.......

Dickovs goal
Agueros goal
Rodris goal.

And the different context, its actually mind blowing how far we've come. Sure theres been other goals that have had an impact along the way but these three are probably the most important goals and demonstrate a wonderful timeline of what we have witnessed over a relatively short period of time.

gareth taylor v Stoke at home I watched him head it from high up in the main stand it looked like in slow motion! Remember after that goal something changed in the crowd! We went on a great run ended up beating Gillingham on pens!

But we wouldn't have need it had he done his job in the previous 3 seasons.
Yaya at Wembley v rags.
It's all bollocks as every single goal changed history, and we were in a good financial position going into the Div 2 season according to Bernstein, oldest outfield player was Goater 28, got rid of loads of player, about £6m for Kinky too.

We didn't earn much going to Division 1, so not sure how it saved us, just contrary hyperbole at the time which some people take as fact now.

We wouldn't be where we are now without the Ian Rush deflection in 1996 - out most important goal. We wouldn't be where we are now without Pearce, Ball, Lee or Wild. Every decision and goal got us where we are now,

Elano's 87th minute goal against Middleborough in the 8-1

Can you imagine how embarrassing it would have been without that?
I was playing cricket and asked my dad who was watching the score, I refused to believe him for genuinely about 45 minutes.

It’s a stupid argument.

You wouldn’t say Horlorck’s goal or even Goaters in the semi are more important than Dickovs!
But it isn't a stupid argument and that's why I say it can go on forever. Every goal, every referee decision has a consequence. Even a throw in, Sami Nasri's non throw in in the build up to 93 20. lf It was our throw in, 93.20 wouldn't have happened. If Kevin Horlock or Edin Dzeko hadn't scored there would be no Paul Dickovs or Sergios.Every action has a consequence.

Anelka v Barca in the first game at the Etihad.
Moving to the Etihad from Maine Road without it we would not have been bought over.
As great as Maine Road was Moving into the Etihad paved the way for everything that happened since.
Sergio,YaYa and Vinnies goals my faves would not have happened if we did not move.
The Manchesters Commonwealth games legacy is the Etihad move by Manchester City.

There's a whole stack of 'sliding doors moments' that can be called out all the way back to the 98/99 season - if any of them was different, history is changed irrevecoably

No Horlock Goal then No DIckov Goal to get us to 2-2, and No Weaver Penalty Saves to win the game

Beating rags 6-1 was a big part of us winning the league on Goal DIfference in 2012 - but no Vinnie Goal against Rags would mean no Last Day chance against QPR and no Dzeko Goal to set up Aguero;s 93:20

Rodri's goal in Istanbul needed other critical goals to a) complete the treble and b) complete the three PL's - and lets not forget Gundo's two goals to beat Villa in the second PL in a row season before.

And of course Stoneseys 11mm clearance against Dippers which we needed to win the 98 point season after the Gabriel Jesus's last gasp goal at Southamption in the 100 point season - it just goes on and on and on!

Exactly my point. Aguero’s goal is miles more important because without it Dzeko’s goal means fuck all also!
