Your Best Dunne Moment *Official*

It's hard to remember too many best moments from a central defender, because usually they're just doing a job, they don't score wonder goals or do anything really really special in a game, and when they do play really well people don't always notice and it just tends to get forgotten. A bit like goalkeepers, what they get remembered for is their mistakes.

Anyway I'm ignoring all these people who are taking the piss talking about own goals and such, because in my opinion, Dunney did make a good few mistakes which cost us points, but he certainly saved us a hell of a lot more points than he lost for us over the years. The highlight for me was his performance in the 2-1 derby, quite amazing especially considering he wasn't well that day. Don't care what anyone says, THAT was typical Dunney.

There will never be a player who doesn't make mistakes, but Dunney would always stand up and be counted. Never gave less than 100% for us. Although that hasn't been enough for some people. Most of us did appreciate it though.

Good luck Richard!

Had to be the game against Arsenal in 2006, it was a few days after the Thatcher forearm smash on Mendes against Portsmouth, there seemed to be a black cloud hanging over the club, it was only a couple of games into what was going to be a very long season. We hadn't beaten Arsenal for nearly 15 years FFS, Henry was still playing for them, and they had just finished runners up to Barcelona in the European Cup final the previous season. Everything was set up for an Arsenal win, it seemed, but the crowd got fully behind the team, and victory was achieved thanks to a Barton penalty AND RICHARD DUNNE KEEPING ARSENAL OUT VIRTUALLY ON HIS OWN. It set the template for the rest of the season, we had to defend to survive, and Richard was crucial to this, without him we would have gone down, and Thaksin, and by extension ADUG, would not have ended up taking over. Dunne, you are up there with Dickov as a City saviour, THANK YOU

A few of us were sent to his apartment in altrincham to get it right for the next tennant just after he had been ordered to move out by keegan for partying too much and turning up late for training. We walked in to find the double bed was on three legs and the headboard had smashed through the plasterboard wall, im not talking about a little hole we had to replace the full wall. he also left us a porno in the video, cheers dunney. when i spoke to his elderley american neighbour asking did he know dunney he said he only ever saw him late at night bringing hookers back. what a guy.

in contrast distin lived downstairs from him and i saw him just before we were due to play leeds away on the first game of the season i already had a ticket but thought i'd chance me arm anyway by asking for one in my cheerful cheeky way to which he simply replied "no" in his miserable frog way and then just walked away. those two were the best patnership i've ever seen but theres only one of em who will always be remembered by us.

good luck dunney the fastest fat man i've ever seen play.

on a mad run sheff utd away new years day, scored a cracker and just kept running into the city fans

Agree with this but don't think Dunney scored it... a thundering run down the right wing, you could feel the ground shaking beneath his feet... think he crossed it for SWP... tactical genius from Keegan to put him at wing-back when he was as fat as most in the crowd that day!!!

Him and Richards been statistically the best CB partnership in the Prem under Sven. For the start of that season, he was an immense player and captured the form he shows at ROI.
