Away Fans

Maybe they had a bad back, maybe they were on crutches, maybe, after all those stairs they just wanted to sit down, maybe they just didn't want to stand!! They've paid their money, made their way to Sunderland on a wet and cold(ish) day so surely they are allowed to choose whether to stand or sit??

Why do we have these threads after every away match? Our support yesterday was superb, the singing was great and those who wanted to sing, sang those who didn't didn't, as simple as that. It is a free country and people have free choice.

The stewards tried to make people in our block sit, but they started from the back which was a bit daft because then the people at the front were still standing, so the others couldn't see and, naturally, stood back up again.

It was a great day out, spoilt a little by the result, but WE WILL WIN THE LEAGUE AGAIN so let's all stick together and just support the team in the way we feel best.

and now I'll retire to a dark corner where I can be cheerful in peace!! Come on folks, let's be Bluesmilers not Bluemoaners!! It's not the end of the season yet. :-)

You mean some people pay good money to watch a game of football and DON'T stand or sing? They just watch the game?

What bastards!

all im saying was its the first away game that ive been to where a large group of our fans were sat down for the full game. Like i said before i was baffled thats all.

Sorry was just being light hearted. However, I didn't see anyone sitting down, except for myself and two people on my row, one of whom was on crutches and none of us sat for more than a couple of minutes now and then.

a load near the front was told to sit or be kicked out

From the club that does this, it wouldn't surprise me.

Modern football. What a load of shit!

' I know, let's penalise football fans for trying to support their team.'

There's only one way to support yer team - do as yer told by the Gestapo or yer out!

Gestapo stewarding informed them and me that we would be thrown out if we stood up again.
Pathetic.
I asked them if they would be throwing people out at the Bon Jovi concert they had just advertised. I was informed I would be thrown out for being abusive if I asked again!!
The stewards must have been getting tips from the local Police who are also lacking in any skills to deal with people.

I was sat on the front row and I took the opportunity to sit down. So ...? What a stupid post.

i had a problem with their arsehole srewards in a league cup match involving my local team chester, 8 of them and coppers dragging me out over seats for holding a banner up ( which we had permission to do ) saying " don't let the smaller clubs die " wankers.
yesterday, after 10 mins told to sit down, i was in row 6, not a lot of choice really, and a lad behind me was escorted out by 2 stewards just after, he was allowed back so may have just warned him.

To be fair, one of those "arsehole" stewards had to clean up a pile of vomit from the stairway because some pillock wasn't man enough to hold down his ale and a meat growler at the same time.
