The most titled and loved team in USSR and Russia, after more than 80 years, finally get a home! "Otkrytie Arena", the first stadium in own of Spartak in its history, opens after an hour - (19.25, Moscow time) with a friendly match - Spartak vs Crvena Zvezda(SRB), a friendly club to Spartak. This stadium will host some World Cup and Confederations Cup matches.

Not too convinced that 2018 finals will be a good experience for visiting fans, infrastructure, hotels and social activities (bars, clubs) are not the same as in west Europe. That with the crazy Russian football fans doesn't make for a good recipe.

Yep, they were trying to do it since 1992 but they had problems with finding a place for it and with paper work. Opens in autumn 2015 (or in late 2015, they name different dates)

CSKA Moscow Stadium is under construction as of 2007. Once completed in 2015, it will be used mostly for football matches and will host the homes matches of PFC CSKA Moscow. Unfortunately the construction process has been halted several times, with the longest pause lasting 16 months (between 2009 and 2011).
The stadium was designed with a capacity of 30,000 people. Construction cost 200-250 million EUR.

As for august 30th, 2014
