Yes but you also have to factor in plenty else too in this case - like 1. the fans knowledge of our prior record in Europe, which will colour their expectations tonight, esp after early first goal went in, and
2. the general feeling of antipathy towards uefa and this tournament from a large portion of city fans for a whole variety of reasons - ffp, seeding, refereeing etc etc

btw even with away supporters that makes no difference. we've been poor for a few years now, apart from a few people gesturing and swearing at the away fans thats it, we dont need them to sing. there was plenty of newcastle away fans and the ground was dead. we need some kind of ultra block or something because its just getting worse. It was better when we were shit
Operation one end should come back, because right now, even with the away fans -that lots of city fans say we desperately need to create "banter" we can't generate an atmosphere.

Thought the crowd was good for much of the game and immediately got behind the team when they went behind. However, the reduction on the field was pretty dire at times, so no-one wants to be the Numpty cheering on dross, do they?
