Forgotten Recent(ish) City Players

Of those players you have named .

Mark Ward was the best of that bunch .
From what I remember he was a decent penalty taker .

Still don't think he was worth the swap of Ian Bishop and Trevor Morley to West Ham .

Lol
I've had this debate so many times, because Bishop's record at Maine Road was far worse than people remember.

Gordon Davies. Formed a deadly partnership with Mark Lillis. Centre halfs were shitting themselves.
Ha ha .
They were very much 2nd division players .
Lucky to be playing in the top division .
The weird thing about that 1985-86 season is that we didn't go down .
Yet in 1982-83 season we got relegated with 2 more points .

I’d love to have seen the City scouting report on Nicky Limber.
Bought from Doncaster for £75,000, and returned for nothing.

Even worse, he couldn’t even get in the Doncaster team during his 2nd spell

Bill Williams - was a stalwart for Stockport in the mid-80s. City signed him for the 88-89 season and he only played once.

He went back to Stockport and played for them for another five seasons.

I remember a Stockport fan I knew being really pissed off we poached him and he reckoned that he would be the best player in our team!!

Met him through work a couple of years ago and got talking of his short spell at City. Played part time at county. A signing that was not really the managers choice.

Andrei Kanchelskis. Did i dream that?

No, same as Peter Beardsley!
