Barcelona vs City - pre-match thread

I'd love to see a 3-5-1-1 formation tomorrow:

Bravo

Stones
Kompany
Otamendi

Fernandinho
Gundogan
Silva
Nolito
Sterling

De Bruyne

Aguero

It'd be a big risk of course, but it's the best way of getting all of our "big guns" on the pitch and outnumbering them in midfield.

After his performance at the weekend I would use Sane over Sterling.

Otherwise that system and personnel is exactly how I'd go as well.

As someone has pointed out, it keeps our ageing, pace less fullbacks of the pitch.

Slightly off topic. Anyone going to see the lads tomorrow. I believe it's at the
Mini Estadi, Barcelona
Not sure what time. So if someone can post all relevant info would be much appreciated.
Turned up here without tickets for the big one due to only being back home for the day after being on holiday. And now tickets here start at €89 , and that's too much for us if we could get them. So a little footy early on and off to watch the boys with a €89 kitty, each.

PEP: "It's always special to come back and see people I remember. I grew up here and played here for a long time." #FCBCity

PEP: "You are important in Europe when you are in the semi-finals all the time and that is the next target at this club."

You must be JOKING.
As much as he is a scapegoat on here, I wager if it was Kolarov 1 v 1 against Lukaku on saturday, he has the balls to engage and at least show him wider
Clichy took zero responsibility at all and allowed the goal to be scored. Kolarov doesn't let Lukaku bully him like that. Do you seriously think Clichy will fare any better Wednesday night?

I have a serious hunch we will play Kompany Stones Otamendi, why else would he bring Kompany on on saturday (up front or otherwise!!!), if it wasnt to test his horrendous calfs/hamstrings/body in general for 5 minutes

Pep wanted a target man and we don't have one. 5 minutes of game time does not equal a fitness test.

All looking smart.

The state of them jackets!

As long as we don't get sucker punched like we usually do and make the most of our chances, I'm talking to you Sergio! Pens in the corner please!

This isn't a bad time at all to face Barcelona, they haven't started all that well. If we want to be considered one of the best in the world then games like this is where it's at. We need to go in with the mentality that they are our equals if we want to be taken seriously as a top 5 in the world team.
