He ended up playing golf and cricket. I played cricket with him for a few seasons. Very dry character. Very funny to be around, and a lovely batsman.

I was at a cup tie at Hull and when the teams were being read out, the announcer named him as Horatio Jeffries. The lad looked suitably embarrassed as fans chanted Horatio throughout the game and his career went downhill from thereon.
