Fernandinho for me. At the hub of everything. Good efforts from Kev, Jesus and Ake. Solid all round really, although Mendy got rinsed with his customary regularity

    Bluemoon's Official Top 100 Albums

Cheers for doing that @BlueHammer85 , it’s been good fun, and a worthy winner. Had it in 10th spot on my list, but only because of multiple selections from the 3 artists I had finishing above it.

    Jules Koundé

Looks a decent player from his YouTube compilations, but then don’t they all?! What he does seem to have is a yard of pace, which we’re crying out for, but I’ve got to say I’m baffled as to why we’re buying two midget centre halves (Kounde & Ake). Wouldn’t one quick diminutive one and one 6ft 3’...

    2020/21 Predictions

If we buy a top quality centre half with a yard of pace, I’d go 1. Dippers 2. City 3. Chelsea 4. Rags If we don’t buy a top quality centre half with a yard of pace 1. Dippers 2. Chelsea 3. Rags 4. City

    Bluemoon's Official Top 100 Albums

I’ve heard a couple of Kris Delmhorst’s which were good. I think she was on the soundtrack to the BBC’s “Case Histories” starring Jason Isaacs a few years back. Not heard of Kathleen Edwards though. I’ll have to give her a listen

    Bluemoon's Official Top 100 Albums

If you like what you hear so far then I’d definitely suggest having a listen to her debut album, Alabama Song, cos it rivals Hardest Part as her best IMO. Certainly it’s got several of her best known songs on it (Pardon Me, Alabama Song, A Soft Place to Fall & Call My Name). Down to Believing...

    Bluemoon's Official Top 100 Albums

Bloody hell, you don’t mess about do you! Getting Somewhere’s not her best unfortunately, but there’s some good stuff on Hardest Part. A lot of her songs are a lot slower and more country tinged than ‘Think It Over’. Here’s “Pardon Me” and “Let Go” for a more representative flavour....

    Bluemoon's Official Top 100 Albums

I’m partial to a bit of country myself, and by twist of fate I saw Steve Earle at the Barbican about 10 to 15 years ago. Truth be told though, I went along mainly because I knew Mrs Earle (better known as Allison Moorer) would be playing with him....although not in the biblical sense! Allison...

Yes, Stevie Nicks could certainly sing. I watched a documentary about them the other day, and it showed her giving it everything on Rhiannon. Which Lucinda Williams album are you on? Car Wheels? How you getting on with it? Her voice is an acquired taste for some, but I’ve loved her for about 30...

    Jules Koundé

Every time we’re linked with a new centre half, first things I check for are pace and height, and every time they turn out to be slow and short. Kounde isn’t particularly quick and is 5ft 11’. Thanks but no thanks. I hope to Christ we can pull the Koulibaly deal off!

    Bluemoon's Official Top 100 Albums

Top band the Blockheads. I had Bowie and The Jam albums in my top 20, but not the ones Squirty lists. The Clash, Never Mind The Bollocks, Exodus and at least 2 Elvis Costello albums would have made the cut if I’d had 40 to play with rather than 20. I’m still stunned at some of the omissions...

    Bluemoon's Official Top 100 Albums

Whilst you’re unquestionably right about all of this boiling down to differing musical tastes and those tastes indicating little one way or the the other about musical knowledge, I do struggle a bit with the post-Peter Green era Fleetwood Mac. I actually own Rumours, having bought it when I was...

Is our cycle of dominance coming to an end?

Lyon wasn’t remotely a one off. It was a virtual carbon copy of defeats in the preceding weeks to Southampton, Chelsea and Arsenal, and earlier ones to United, Wolves and Spurs

    LP sales overtake CDs

Ha ha, probably not, but in my mind LP's cost about a tenner like they did when I was in my teens! When my eldest lad brings home an album now and it's got a price sticker on it saying £24-99, I'm like "What is that, a treble or something?"

    LP sales overtake CDs

Both my lads buy vinyl on a regular basis now, whereas paradoxically, given that I fill the household role of ‘old fogey’, I download almost everything. I suspect if I were their ages however, I too would buy a lot of vinyl. Something tangible, the imagery of the cover, etc etc. Fucking...
