You would not regret reading them - his best work in my opinion. The Last Kingdom series was good but went on a bit too long for me.

If you have not seen Space: Above and Beyond a series from the 90's it is worth a watch.

For books the Jack Vance is a great author - maybe start with his Lyonesse trilogy and then The Demon Princes books. I also love Gene Wolfe's Book of the New Sun work - four books in total. Bernard Cornwell's Arthur trilogy is also excellent and is currently being developed into a TV series.

    Liverpool Thread - 2022/23

Wouldn't it be great if we could have a healthy rivalry with Liverpool rather than the toxic crap we will have to endure again this coming season. I cannot remember ever disliking a club that we compete with as much as the dippers. There was not as much hatred and stupidity when we were going...

Dipper fans have been scummy since at least the 70's with jibbing in going on since then. I did not quite understand why some rag mates hated them so vehemently when they were competing with them and the same for Chelsea. It is sometimes easy to watch some of the football they have played (e.g...

I thought he had quite a bit of time out of form at the start of the season and the one before.

Wishes for the media in the 22/23 season

That some organization takes a chance on Nedum and uses him as a co-commentator for City matches.

I think Liverpool will miss Mane more than many people think. He might be a diving, violent git but, when on form, is a very good striker. Will be interesting to see what happens with Lewandoski now.

Thanks - their fans seemed friendly enough back in 91 but looked like they had just come from a Status Quo concert! Good luck for the coming season.

How are Hansa Rostock regarded in Germany? I happened to be in Munich in 1991 and saw them beat Bayern at the Olympiastadion and have had a soft spot for them ever since. My mates and I were in the Rostock end and it was pretty special.

Juanma Lillo leaves to become Al-Sadd Head Coach

Bacon face went through quite a few assistants during the rags period of success. Changing them is a good way to bring in new ideas, routines etc. whilst maintaining consistency. I think Lilo has done a good job but am sure we can find a good successor.

Jason Denayer had a good loan playing alongside the "Greatest Defender in The World". I thought he would make the jump to the first team squad but went on some crappy loans the left and got to a decent standard at Lyon. The fact that VVD played at Celtic before moving to Southampton shows that...

Callum Doyle is 18 and spent last season on loan at Sunderland where he initially did very well but faded out of the first team picture after their manager change. Tommy Doyle (no relation) is a midfielder who is the grandson of two City legends so City fans are desperate for him to do well. He...

Would it be worth sending any of our younger players there on loan? Callum Doyle could do a good job at centre back and Tommy Doyle in midfield. Opportunity to play in the Champions League group stage would be great for them and I think they would both do good jobs for Celtic.

    Giddy signings

Ian Bishop first time around was very exciting given his magnificent performance for Bournemouth in the 3-3 draw at Maine Road just a few weeks before. One scouser that is a really decent fella and pretty good player to boot. Was gutted when Kendall got rid of him.
