    Media Thread - 2022/23

I get it to an extent with us being champions and the first game of the season. The story of the day for most watchers would have been United with their next potential saviour installed as manager losing at home though and looking equally if not more shite than they were before. If they’d have...

I enjoyed every minute of it :)

    #10 | Jack Grealish - 2022/23 Performances

He’s becoming very underrated because people are looking at his end product directly more than the teams and not realising the latter is happening because of how much he helps moving the opposition defence out of position.

The post match interview with Pep on the bbc website is a good one, not sure who the interviewer was but he asked intelligent questions and you can tell from Peps demeanour he liked it too.

West Ham United (A) | Sun 7th Aug | Post Match Thread

“yeah but it’s been thirty minutes since I scored the last goal so let’s go again”. I love him already…

Things that blew your mind the first time you saw them

Just watching a Rik Mayall doc on tv and reminded me the first time I saw the young ones definitely blew my mind!

CAS judgement: UEFA ban overturned, City exonerated (report out p603)

The one that broke the story surely? ;)

CAS judgement: UEFA ban overturned, City exonerated (report out p603)

Given the reason it’s happening, I wouldn’t want it cancelled.

    #9 | Erling Haaland - 2022/23 Performances

Could have scored two, should have scored one and had several occasions when his movement was brilliant but he wasn’t played in. Give it a few weeks at most, it won’t need long. He’ll be superb for us.

    Liverpool (N) | Community Shield | Post-Match

Think it’s about partnerships. I think all three of Ake, Laporte and Dias look better when they have Stones alongside them.

    Liverpool (N) | Community Shield | Post-Match

Not sure I agree with the last point. There’s potential psychological advantages to either outcome.

    Liverpool (N) | Community Shield | Post-Match

I was expecting us to get beat, for some that was their first game. I saw enough there though that we’re going to be very very good again when fully up to speed.

    Liverpool (N) | Community Shield | Post-Match

There was more than enough in that game to show we’ll be the team to beat again this season.

    joke thread....

Not a joke but this (which is true and made the national newspapers) made me laugh. For more than a year Neil Simmons went out into his garden every evening and mimicked the calls of the owls but they never replied. Until one evening last year they began to hoot back at him. Mr Simmons, 41...

    Gas & Electricity

My DD is £350 per month to EDF, looked at the fixed price offer and it was now £715. That same company has been brought under nationalised control in France with no price rises until 2023 at least and even then it’ll be controlled. We’re getting truly shafted and the idea the government...

I failed my Greek mythology exam last week. I think my lack of revision was my Achilles elbow.

Yep. Both myself and my dog are struggling more today than yesterday!

    It’s hot

To be fair, we’ve never had a hotter day so it’s always going to be newsworthy. In terms of the apocalyptic aspect to it, I’ve not seen that about today in isolation aside from the usual reporting in a vain attempt to stop idiots from being idiots. It’s about days like today becoming more...
