Phil could do a real job on that Newcastle back four. Steve Bruce's saviour mmm...mmmm

    Spurs thread 2020/21

Absolutely amazing: 3 up in the first 16 minutes then from 3-0 to 3-3 in the last 8! Talk about a game of two ...not even halves. Spurs ie Kane and Son looked really good on the counter and West Ham looked as though they didn't know each other for the first 45. Then the counters became rarer...

    Liverpool thread 2020/21

I think we can all remember the scouse serenade of an unconscious Ederson after he had "got Mane sent off" - and then he was fit enough to play in midweek. But that's their "fans". I'm sorry for VVD as for any player with such an injury and it doesn't affect our chances of winning the title...

A succession of 1-0 wins until Christmas, bring Messi in in January. Quadruple.

    Premier League Games 17/18/19 October

Very pleased for Brighton. Good manager and very positive approach: Hodgeson a dead hand on football and Palace so negative that they'll kill the game - but they're a Sky favourite.

    Premier League Games 17/18/19 October

It's ridiculous. "not enough in that to say the decision was a clear and obvious error" - there never is. In Sterling's case there's never enough contact for him to go down and that's not a clear and obvious error. But got to give the Palace a hand.

    Arsenal (H) Post match thread

Just echoing many of the positive comments made on here and agreeing with Pep's after match remarks. A season like we've never seen before and hopefully won't ever see again. No close season for City - unlike most other clubs - and two international breaks to add to the chaos of injuries and...

I'm sorry it doesn't come close to spots washing!

    Premier League Games 17/18/19 October

My post is rather sarcastic. We've been told 30 seconds into every match that we are defensively weak, give an invitation to every opponent to score at will and should no better than to defend a high line: Liverpool ship seven (who was on for 90 mins?) and look vulnerable to every aimless punt...

    Premier League Games 17/18/19 October

That Pickford "tackle" wouldn't have merited a comment against any other team in the PL.

    Premier League Games 17/18/19 October

Our high line means there are question marks about our defence and an obvious weakness for other teams to exploit. I think it's wonderful how Liverpool can play an equally high line and be good enough to be rock solid at the back.

Aren't Liverpool already in the third tier?

Yes this is very good. You never made me feel bad for him and I never quite believed you felt bad for him but I can believe you kept your face straight most of the time you were writing this.

United and Liverpool EFL project - proposal rejected

We've been discussing this since Sunday and the only practical, sensible and beneficial alternative to this crap is that put forward by the inspired Bluemooner who wanted United and Livarpool kicking out of the PL to reduce it to 18 teams.

    Media Thread - 2020/21

This is true and is the basis of much thinking on free market economics. It holds true when talking about supermarkets but even there we have measures and commissions to protect the integrity of the market and prevent monopolies. Football and football fans in particular do not want to see a...

United and Liverpool EFL project - proposal rejected

English football faces a number of genuine, serious problems. Some are immediate and some are long term. There is, for instance, no point in denying that a number of EFL clubs will die without immediate financial help, but the long term problems of EFL clubs will not be solved by a version of...
