    Pep Guardiola - 2020/21 Performances

I wouldn’t see it that way. He may have been mulling over a finely balanced decision for some time then, having reached a conclusion, naturally re-focused. We’re both guessing, of course.

    Riyad Mahrez - 2020/21 Performances

To be fair, a lot of people on here go OTT when they’re frustrated but most are willing to give credit where it’s due. Quite a few posted elsewhere that they were happy to eat humble pie. It’s a typical forum. A few more performances like this from Mahrez (and Stones) and the place will smell...

    John Stones - 2020/21 Performances

“Built aicne” is just what we’ve missed. You simply can‘t have enough of it in the modern game.

    Raheem Sterling - 2020/21 Performances

It was right to rest him. He’s been abysmal recently. Hopefully, two or three games will give him new impetus, as well as the chance for a youngster to get some game time. And hopefully he won’t throw a strop if he is temporarily sidelined. I guess that’s always a consideration for any manager.

    John Stones - 2020/21 Performances

Like others, I’m really pleased to see this apparent turn in Stones’s fortunes. He’s had a royal battering on here. Well done, Pep, for rewarding his performance in Greece. If this is the start of his rehab, we’re moving back to the happy situation where we’ve a choice from several decent CBs.

    Pep Guardiola - 2020/21 Performances

I thought mixed. Good for the reasons you stated - plus resting Sterling. But harsh on Foden, yet again, and placing more demands on KDB than were necessary. OK, KDB worked, and he did rest midweek, but I’m concerned over the longer term. Maybe he’ll be rested for Porto and Fulham. An...

If football managers were zoo animals...

...what would you write on their cage sign? I’ll start with yesterday’s opponent. Species: Dychosaurus Appearance: Ginger. Long coat in winter. Habitat: Mostly Pennines but may be found at football grounds countrywide. Diet: Gravel Sound: Gruff whine. Temperament: Generally defensive...

Man of the Match Burnley PL (H)

Kinell man. Has a wasp got your arse? Sardonic humour. We’ll have FFS’s lawyers on next, threatening action for libel.

Light hearted, I think, after the abuse he’s had.

Man of the Match Burnley PL (H)

Nobody can ignore Mahrez because they think he’s a shitbag. A hat-trick’s a fcukin hat-trick! Full credit to Stones too, who’s also had a terrible kicking on here. And Mendy. KDB pulled a lot of the strings.

Pep signs new deal until 2023!

Look no further than today’s team selection (not the result!) for further evidence. Burnley at home, who we beat 5-0 for the fourth season running. Foden shown the bench yet again and not a single academy product in the starting line-up.

    Burnley (H) Post Match Thread

This isn’t a “told you so” post because I didn’t tell you so. Nevertheless it’s good to see three of the boo boys - FFS, Stones and Mendy - have such a good match. The more players who are on their game, both fringe players and regulars, the better our season will be. (I’d still be pissed off...
