I'm wrong more often than I'm right, but I said after the extension he signed that three years were utterly idiotic. He was a complete liability today and has been since last year.
Based on past games versus Brentford, this will be a grind. I worry about so many changes across the back line, and Walker looked wholly lost in his brief cameo at West Ham. Our bench is undoubtedly strong enough to come and change things if necessary!
I need to catch up with this thread. What's the general consensus on how we're feeling as the trial approaches? Are some confident, and some not so much?
Angel Gomes starting in midfield over Lewis? I wouldn't say I like that, but Rico's best chance to start might be at LB if you assume TAA is now the starting right back. Maybe Reese James if he ever finds fitness. There is a real lack of left-backs, though. I'd back him to beat out Shaw.
He's got a bit of arrogance to him now, and I mean that in the best way possible. He looks full of confidence in whatever he's doing. More often than not, it doesn't come off(ha), but him trying is what I want to see from him.
