Tbh, that’s kind of how I read the article - they aren’t looking for a specialist 6 to replace Rodri. More someone who can play either as a 6 or 8, like Guimaraes (although I think that boat has probably sailed). Probably wishful thinking though.
For those that haven't read it, there's nothing new in that article to give any cause for concern from what I can see. Even if the quotes from "PL execs" are genuine, they will have no bearing on the case. They just read like fan fiction, the sort of wishful thinking you see on RAWK or Red Cafe...
Hope it works out well for him. Obviously would’ve preferred a permanent deal, but that was never a realistic option. Like Cancelo, we’ll probably end up loaning him out every season until his contract expires.
