It’s great. Every time I saw Alvarez on the team sheet last season (alongside Haaland) I just knew our attack was going to be stunted. He was a good back up to Haaland but a terrible ten. But Pep always wanted him to have his game time.
I’m excited to be honest mate.
Yeah I wish him well for sure, but I’m not remotely upset he wants out as I believe we’ve better options at 10 and really don’t mind playing a false 9 when Haaland is injured.
That’s the thing, he could hit a barn door in the last four months of the season playing at ten and lots of people on here defending him saying he’d lost confidence by playing out of position.
Grealish, Savio, KDB, Bobb, Haaland, Silva, Foden, McAtee, Doku…
There’s a few goals in there tbf.
Who would you have we sign to play 6 league games a season?
Foden can also play false 9, as can KDB and Silva. We won’t get anyone of any quality that’s happy to only play when Haaland is injured. Alvarez spent most of last season getting in the way at 10, we have 4-5 better players than Alvarez to play there.
A proper option? Bobb is playing at a far higher standard than Alvarez was when we bought him, same with Savio.
Alvarez was a decent back up to Haaland but stank the place out at 10. I don’t think we can get someone in that’s good enough to be Haaland’s back up, but is happy to get so few...
Nooooooo. I want Bobb to have more minutes. I’d rather spend the money on someone who can share Rodri’s load. We’re stacked at 10 and wide.
If Haaland gets injured then we have 3-4 that can play false 9.
I’ve said it before, he’s the worst outcome of this club getting money and international “fans”. Stands for nothing the club, city of fan base stands for.
